Short sight

I initially enquired about laser eye last year with a number of big name providers. I only ended up booking an appointment with Accuvision due to location and how easy it was to get booked in. Having Diabetes T1 I was cautious about actually going through it getting it done, however information from the doctors and from Simon Falk at Wetherby meant I could get it done. The service received from Accuvision in Wetherby was excellent throughout, couldn’t fault it. I had to come back within 6 months of my first visit to make sure my prescription was stable. When the surgery finally came round I had it done on a saturday, loads of slots available to get booked in for. The treatment was virtually painless. My left eye was done first which was fine, my right eye was done second, but knowing what was going to happen after having the first eye done, nerves and adrenaline, made the 2nd a bit more uncomfortable. There was no pain just discomfort and slight soreness afterwords in my right eye. Treatment lasted around 6+ seconds per eye and that was it. The doctors were excellent and did their utmost to keep patients calm during procedure. Keeping your mind on other things during gets you through it if you’re nervous. Vision was blurry for a fair few hours afterwards however rest sorted this. The next day I had clear vision, and its been several months now and my vision has gotten better. I had bruising for a few weeks which cleared. Again I can’t fault the aftercare, follow-up appointments were made and kept to. Highly recommend Accuvision Wetherby. Also must say the pricing is clear, no hidden charges like other laser providers.

I have worn contact lenses and glasses for 20 years and had been considering getting laser eye surgery for about the past 5 – I finally had it done last week and I really cannot speak highly enough of everyone at Accuvision & I wish I had done it sooner!

After considering laser eye treatment for many years, but having been put off by accounts of poor customer service from some of the larger corporate brands, alongside hidden costs, I held back for some time. I found out about Accuvision through my long standing, tried and tested optician, who also does the pre and post operative assessment for the laser eye surgery there. I mentioned my interest to him and, with no pressure whatsoever, he suggested I stop in for a free, no obligation assessment to see if I would be suitable for the surgery. I was pleased to hear I was, and that the price I was quoted was the price I would pay. Extra gimmics and fancy treatment options weren’t going to be suggested just before the surgery, like some of the larger companies I have heard of do, and cost me more on top. The treatment I would get would be the best on offer, and the price would remain. The whole team were incredibly professional and courteous, they made the experience relaxed and comfortable. I work in the medical field myself, so I have a keen eye for when things are being done well, and when there is a façade. Accuvision are one of the best organised, professional and friendly healthcare organisations I have come across – no façade needed! I have always been a little squeamish of anything to do with my eyes, but I was given all the time, care and explanation of the process that I needed to make it as easy an experience as I imagine it could possibly be. The results are incredible! I wish I had this done years back, and the follow up and aftercare made me realise that this wasn’t a one off money making exercise for the team. They kept regular checks on my recovery and satisfaction, and maintained their high level of professionalism and care even though the procedure was complete and they had their money. Unfortunately there are too many companies out there who do not stick to this principle, but Accuvision is not one of them. If you are uncertain about laser eye treatment like I was, I cannot recommend enough that you at least visit Accuvision for an assessment and chat. They are very patient and will clear up your questions without any pressure to commit what-so-ever. It is the best decision I have made in years, and I was very sceptical of the whole procedure before my experience with the team. From my first appointment I knew that I had chosen the best people to do my laser surgery.Simon was very good at reassuring me that it was a simple procedure he helped me make my mind up almost straight away to go ahead. On the day of my surgery I was a very nervous patient but the staff made me at ease and I was very surprised at how fast and professional the whole team was. I had expected to be at the clinic for up to 2 hours but was done and out in less than one hour. My vision had vastly improved immediately. Your team of top class surgeons have given me years of freedom from glasses and contact lenses.

 I went to many different laser eye surgery clinics who were either unable to complete my surgery or tried to ‘hard sell’ the procedure to me.
Accuvision was my last company visited and they were honest throughout and their examinations were more thorough giving me confidence that I should move forward.

During and after the surgery they’re with you every step of the way. I just wish I’d visited them first, it would of saved me a lot of time!

It is now over 2 months since I had surgery at the London clinic and the results have been fantastic and surpassed my expectations. Having been dependent on glasses and contact lenses for so long, it is a great feeling being free from the hassle they entail. Having no barrier between you and the world is wonderful, and simple things like playing football have become easier and more enjoyable. Going from a high prescription of -10.00 +2.00 in the right eye and -10.50 +2.25 in the left to now seeing clearly unaided still staggers me – I had almost convinced myself I would still need to wear glasses! I can’t fault Accuvision, all the staff there have been great. You get the feeling you’re in safe hands unlike other high street chains where they seemed more like salesmen which you don’t want when you’re talking about your eyes. They were honest, professional and friendly, but made sure I understood the risks. The procedure is nothing to worry about, quite surreal and a little uncomfortable but no pain. Dr Prashant Jindal was my surgeon and I was talked through what was happening all the time which was reassuring. It did take a while for my eyes to settle down and I’d say it was probably after a week before everything really came into focus – it was still a little blurry up until then but I was told not to worry and be patient which I didn’t do very well! Overall I’m very happy with the results and would recommend you give Accuvision a try if you are considering laser eye surgery – I’m so thankful I did!

I visited a few clinics in the US and the UK before deciding on Accuvision as this is a very big decision to make. Unlike the others, Accuvision quickly impressed me with their professionalism and lack of ‘pushiness’, unlike the many other clinics. The staff and doctors were fantastic at reassuring me (I’m a VERY nervous patient) and I couldn’t be happier with the results (20/20) or with the post-op care.

I had my procedure to correct my short sight and astigmatism in August 2014 and when I write this, in October 2014, it feels like I have never needed glasses or contact lenses! I am so glad I chose Accuvision as they were very thorough in consultation and at the time of my procedure I was very nervous and panicky but they were very patient and kind and got me through!
