Ive just undergone LASIK eye surgery 5 days ago, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Ive wanted to have LASIK since finding out about it when I was 14, now fours years later the time finally came.

The procedure it’s self isn’t painful and is over very quickly, I tested at 20/20 immediately after and my vision had continued to improve since, recovery felt swift and easy with no excessive pain halos or dryness.

I couldn’t tell you how much this surgery meant to me, the entire team were beyond incredible.

All in all it was an increadble experience! I can see like I’ve never seen before, after my second Post Op exam I took a walk in the park that I frequented often as a young child and I felt the emotion well up inside me when I took in the breathtaking view of this ordinary park.

Caring, relaxed and knowledgeable – Adults with amblyopia, there is hope!

My whole experience with Accuvision has been flawless from start to finish. Booking appointments was simple, the staff were always friendly and helpful, and Vik is an absolute legend – a true credit to the company.

My story:

I’ve lived with amblyopia (lazy eye) in my left eye since childhood. I wore glasses when I was young, but was eventually told by opticians that “nothing more could be done.” Since my right eye had excellent vision, I managed day to day without issue.

Later in life, I began searching again for solutions. Unfortunately, multiple opticians gave me the same discouraging answer: nothing could be done. After researching online, I discovered Accuvision. Their website mentioned amblyopia and possible ways to help, so I booked a consultation.
From the moment I arrived, I was impressed. The clinic was welcoming, the reception staff professional and friendly, and they even offered refreshments. After a thorough assessment and scans, they worked out a prescription that allowed me to see 2–3 extra lines on the chart with my amblyopic eye. I was amazed – after years of being told there was no hope, this was a game changer.
Vik explained my options clearly: contact lenses, laser eye surgery or a newer brain-training programme. He was relaxed, knowledgeable, and never pushy with me unlike most clinics who just want your money.
It was obvious he genuinely cared about his patients, taking time to explain everything and put me at ease.
I first tried contact lenses, which made a noticeable difference but I struggled to keep up with wearing them. Encouraged, I later returned to discuss laser eye surgery. Again, Vik explained everything in detail without any pressure.

The surgery itself was surprisingly quick and painless. Due to the eye drops, I couldn’t see what was happening, but the staff talked me through every step, keeping me calm. The surgeon introduced himself, answered my questions, and the aftercare was excellent – with eye drops provided and staff available by phone if needed.
The results have been incredible. Within hours, the blurriness faded, and it felt like I had unlocked a new level of vision. At my follow-up, my eye had healed well, and I could already see far better than before. For context: before surgery, my lazy eye managed around 6/40 on the chart. Just four days after surgery, I was reading 6/18, 6/12 with some effort, and even some of 6/9. That’s beyond amazing – and I’m confident it will improve further.

A fantastic experience! I booked my initial appointment and was greeted by the lovely Ekra. She could not have been more welcoming or helpful and was on my subsequent visits, how she remembers everyone’s names is beyond me!

Vikash did my initial screening consultation and was also there on the day of my operation and subsequent check up. He fully explained the procedure, what I would need to be aware of and at no time put any pressure on me to proceed.

He made me feel really relaxed and confident in the process. Two weeks later I had my operation. Both eyes at the same time, Lasik procedure to correct both long and short sightedness.

My experience with AccuVision Solihull has been nothing but excellent! I honestly cannot describe how happy I am with my results, I went from being reliant upon glasses with a complex prescription, I actually had my eye test free on NHS as my prescription was so complex.
