After much research and consultations at a number of clinics I decided on Accuvision for my laser surgery.

Accuvision were by far:

1) the most helpful in terms of detailed advice,
2) the least pushy,
3) offered the best value, and
3) worked with outstanding technology (including the fastest laser)

All the staff at every point before and after the procedure were extremely professional and knowledgeable.

An important consideration for me was the decision of whether or not to go with the Intralase procedure for the cutting of the flap. There is a lot of research on this, and the sound advice I received enforced my view based on research that this was not necessary at all.

After a few weeks, my vision is now better than 20/20 in both eyes, and I am absolutely pleased with the results.

All in all, an excellent experience.

I would say this is the best money I have ever spent.

I went to Optimax previously for a consultation and was quoted £3090! So I looked on the internet and found Accuvision, read all the testimonials and booked an appointment. It was a much better experience, everything was explained and the price about half that I was quoted elsewhere.

I was worried on the day of surgery as any normal person would be. But it did not hurt and I was talked through every step. It was over before you knew it. There was nothing to fear. I came out and could see, although slightly blurry.

Since the surgery, just the feeling of dry eyes which drops help. My vision is good and I need it with two children to look after. ACCUVISION HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE POSITIVELY FOREVER!

I can see the clock during the night! I was a guinea pig for all my friends. I have told them I would do it again without a thought. DO IT! It’s wonderful to be without glasses.

If you are considering laser eye surgery, in my view, you don’t have to search anywhere else – as you have probably just found your clinic!!!

I had Wavefront Optimized LASIK exactly one year ago and it was the best decision I could possibly make about my eyes. Dear Accuvision team – thank you so much again for the freedom I enjoy!!

I used to be short sighted and my prescription was -4.50 and -2.50 with slight astigmatism. I’m 30 years old, wearing glasses since my early teens. Before I called Accuvision I went to Optical Express, but what a disaster!! I was just a number. Also from the advertised £395 per eye, the final quote ended up on astonishing £4000!! And the really ‘best thing’: at Optical Express was that they used such strong drops for dilating pupils. I couldn’t see a thing. Of course it was well after my vision was completely blurred and I could not read a thing that they wanted me to immediately sign some papers and also immediately book for the surgery. Appalling experience! By the way the drops they used made my vision completely unclear for straight 8 hours.
They almost put me off getting my eyes lasered completely!

The Accuvision approach was completely different. No rushing, very friendly atmosphere, everything explained to the very detail, affordable price – my quote was £1300 in total for both eyes including wavefront treatment, which unlike many other clinics is a standard at Accuvision! No offers of talking up the price for ‘better’ treatments after baiting people with significantly lower advertised prices. I think the moment when receptionist talked to me after my consultation and even advised me to have another consultation elsewhere if I feel like it, gave me the confidence to go ahead. Also taking into consideration that the technology at Accuvision seems so much more advanced than at other clinics – I booked myself in.

Please don’t be scared of the surgery – you are truly in experienced hands and it is seriously painless. I can’t even say the surgery was unpleasant because it happened so quickly – you don’t have a time to think about it. I spent approx. 20 minutes in the treatment room. The actual time of using laser was about few seconds on each eye. Protective lenses were inserted and off I went. On my way home from the clinic while waiting with my friend for a train – I could already read the train times on the board and my friend couldn’t – unbelievable!!! I mean – my vision was a bit hazy and it was like looking through dirty window, but I could see things clearly enough. Next day there was still a bit of haziness but definitely there was remarkable improvement and I watched a bit a TV with sun glasses. 24 hours after my surgery, protective contact lenses were removed and at this stage I was slightly disappointed as I thought right after that I would be able to see without the haziness. This happened in the late afternoon so I went to bed early. What a surprise in the morning!!!! That was it – everything was crispy clear!!! I went flat hunting with my friends and in the evening I even attended a house party. Since then my vision is better than 20/20 and I can’t even imagine anymore what it was like wearing glasses!!

So again, if you can’t decide maybe because you don’t like the feeling of anyone touching your eye, please let it happen, you won’t regret it at all – it’s a very small price to pay for being able to see clearly!!

Amazing, really really really good customer services and relations i was given direct email addresses for contact to surgeons and opticians so if id got any problems i just had to mail them, i very extremely comfortable at every stage with all the staff.

Only once was i asked how id be paying unlike everywhere else i went especially Ultralase,
Accuvision staff where very personal and nobody seemed textbook on the whole process as everyone’s eyes are different i was a patient and not a cash point.
I’ve just had my 6 month check up and I’m all well, but ive been offered a 12 month check at no extra cost just to reassure myself i made the right decision.
The cost of surgery wasn’t an issue for me i went where i was most comfortable and accuvision was the one, and it was the cheapest too so that was a bonus.
Ultralase and optimax spent as long talking about finance options as they did about surgery when i was paying cash so they needn’t of bothered. Also elsewhere when having consultations i was passed between numerous staff and nobody treated me personally. Accuvision knew me on a first name basis within days and where happy to answer all my questions and i wasn’t given some ridiculous brochure to try win me over just plain and simple AMAZING service, it really was the best thing ive done in my life,
Only 1 day later i didn’t need my glasses and my eyes settled within 1 week to better than 20-20

I had my surgery in April 2008 and I have just been discharged from the Accuvision clinic in Solihull, Birmingham. I have 130% vision – better than 20/20!!

I read lots of reviews on this site and also visited Ultralase before making my final decision. I just felt so at ease with the staff at Accuvision and I felt I could ask them anything and that they were very honest and open. At Ultralase it was almost as if they were repeating the exact same spiel over and over to the thousands who pass through their door. They also wouldn’t stop calling me after the appointment. Accuvision don’t apply any pressure whatsoever – they leave you to make your own mind up.

I think that it’s important to know for anyone considering surgery that it can take a while for your eyesight to recover and settle down. I certainly wasn’t one of those that could step out of the clinic and immediately see across the road! My eyes were sensitive and my focus rather up and down for a fortnight or so, but I was able to return to work after a few days and was always closely monitored by the clinic. My night vision took several weeks longer as I had quite a lot of halo effect and ghosting so I wasn’t comfortable driving at night. I was a bit concerned about this, but they assured me that this was normal. Four months on, it is much better.

Accuvision in Solihull is a small clinic and they get their customers through recommendation not intense advertising like their larger competitors. The team are so friendly – especially Nick, and my results are fantastic so I cannot recommend them enough!

I’m 70 and, having worn glasses since I turned 49 I didn’t think Lasik would work for me. I’ve just been for my check-up before I fly back home to the USA and I have to tell you that this organization has everything. Superb equipment together with wonderful professional staff who are friendly and helpful. And I’m typing this without GLASSES!

I just wanted to give an update on my situation to give everyone out there a full complement of eye surgery stories.

I had my surgery in December 2007 to correct long sightedness and astigmatisms in both eyes. The left eye healed as expected and I now have better than 20:20 in that eye. However, the right eye did not settle as expected and a very small part of the astigmatism remained. All the prescription had been removed, it was just a really small bit of astigmatism left.

What I will say is that my situation is very rare (trust me eh!). I couldn’t quote figures, but from what the optomestrists and surgeons told me and gather from the success rate from the other testomonials that this happens hardly ever.

Anyway, I went back on 30th July for a bit of enhancement surgery on the eye. I will say that the first time I had it done, there was no pain whatsoever and this is true for the second time too.

During the second surgery, there was a small difference in creating the flap in that they lifted the old one that was created in December. I felt no pain whatsoever when this was done and no pain during or after surgery.

The only difference is that I had a really watery eye for a few hours and slight discomfort (as in a headache pain just behind eye and was soon sorted out with a paracetamol and a sleep).

I have been back since and my eye is doing well. The astigmatism has gone and the eye is settling down as expected which is good news. I have had no ‘halo effect’ from lights this time and am so happy that I decided to go back for more surgery.

It just shows that I was happy with Accuvision enough to put my sight in their hands for a second time. No pain, outstanding service from start to finish and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The point of this post is not to worry anyone – quite the opposite. I wanted to let you know what happened to me. This is the best thing I have ever had done – it has changed my life.
