Comments: Like many others who have posted here before, I had been considering having surgery for many years. This year I am pleased to say that I finally decided to do something about it and find out if I was suitable. I had increasingly found wearing contact lenses uncomfortable and desperately needed a new pair of glasses and, having a prescription of -8.75 with astigmatism, resented the thought of the expense this would entail. Having read many positive stories I decided that Accuvision would be the best place to try.
I attended my consultation in September with an open mind and was quite prepared to be told that nothing could be done. I was delighted to find out that my eyes were suitable for surgery and that I should expect a good outcome from it even though there was a chance that I would be left with a small residual prescription. My surgery was booked the next day for the end of October. Everything went according to plan and the procedure really was over so quickly with only minor discomfort.. My check up the next day was positive and by my one week follow up my vision was as good as it had been with glasses beforehand with a promise that with further healing it should get better still. I did not expect a miraculous recovery and my vision certainly fluctuated during that first week. Personally I would not have been happy to have been at work for that first week but I would say that after 2 weeks my vision felt perfectly stable. There is still some night vision ‘interference’ but I feel quite comfortable driving in the dark. I do not find this to be any worse than driving at night whilst wearing my glasses or having worn contact lenses all day.
My overall experience at Accuvision was excellent. I had read how professional and friendly the team are and found this to be totally true. I never felt under any pressure to go ahead with surgery and that my welfare was the priority. I hope I haven’t rambled on too long here but to be able to see properly without glasses or lenses having relied upon them for nearly 40 years is a revelation. I can particularly appreciate my new vision on such a wonderful clear sunny day here today.
If you are thinking of having this procedure I would thoroughly recommend Accuvision. This was a big decision for me to make and I am so pleased that I went for it.

Comments: I had My IOLs implanted in 2009. I investigated alot of companies and found I had most confidence with the team at Accuvision. Everyone was friendly and inspired confidence. The procedure was a little uncomfortable under local anaesthetic but the team made me feel very comfortable, however when I woke up and got to take my patch of the next day – it was all worth it!!
2 years later and I have gone from -12 in both eyes to better than 20/20 vision and I can truly say it is the best money I have ever spent.

Since I love sports and all sorts of outdoor activities, I felt that it would be really convenient to get rid of my glasses and contact lenses.

With a short-sightedness of -3.00 only (which had been stable for more than 10 years), I was probably not amongst the most challenging patients to receive laser eye surgery. Still, my expectations were high – and I’m extremely happy with the outcome after surgery!

Although I’m located in Germany, my choice fell on Accuvision due to the long standing experience of Daryus Panthakey and his team with corneal refractive procedures, and their extremely high standards of safety and accuracy.

I had surgery mid August 2011 (about 10 weeks ago). The whole team at Accuvision was absolutely professional and I always felt that I was in best hands. Surgery itself was painless and not uncomfortable at all – it was over really fast, probably 1-2 minutes in total per eye!

After surgery, it took 2-3 weeks for my vision to settle, which is quite normal. Since then, my vision is absolutely perfect! Now I can go running, cycling, hiking without even thinking about glasses or contact lenses – I just love it 🙂

I was very short-sighted (-6.75D with astigmatism) and had to wear glasses since the age of 9. I also experimented with different types of contact lenses but could wear them only a few hours per day. Additionally, the correction with contact lenses was never perfect, so I used them only for sports.
I know Accuvision as a brilliant symbiosis between WaveLight refractive laser systems and one of the world’s best surgeons, achieving extraordinary good treatment results.
Once I had decided to undergo laser eye surgery, it was therefore clear that Accuvision was the best possible choice, although this meant that I had to travel from Germany to London.
The treatment itself was almost painless and took only a few minutes for both eyes. And now, 2 months after surgery, I am still very happy with the result and enjoy the new freedom. My vision is now slightly better than with glasses, and significantly better than with contact lenses.
Thank you very much to Daryus Panthakey and the Accuvision team for this great experience. From the very beginning, I felt that I was in the best hands!

Having worn glasses as a child and then contact lenses for 16 years, at the age of 32 I could no longer bear them in my eyes due to dryness. I desperately wanted to have laser surgery some years ago but was rejected as my corneas were too thin for the LASIK and LASEK treatments. I met Simon Falk by chance as I had read about some contact lenses which may have been worth a try. He suggested that I might be suitable for the Trans-Epithelial treatment Accuvision offer which turned out to be the case. I plucked up the courage to go ahead in May 2010 and am so pleased with the results. As I am now 50 and was at the point of needing glasses for long and short sightedness (aghhhhh!!) I also had the mono vision treatment. Initially my ‘distance’ eye was much slower than my ‘reading’ eye and I was a bit concerned although I was assured that if it didn’t correct itself (which in fact it did), the eye could be re-treated. Three months later and I have almost perfect vision – only out by +0.25 in my distance eye. I do not wear glasses at all and it’s fab!

The surgery itself took minutes and there was discomfort afterwards – not a sharp pain but more of an ache and I found it difficult of open my eyes to put the eye drops in. Just took strong pain killers. Fearing I wouldn’t sleep, I stayed up until 11pm – should have gone earlier. Slept fine and the pain was gone in the morning. Slight achiness over the next couple of days but that was all.

I would thoroughly recommend the Leeds clinic. They are very professional, re-assuring and approachable and I am so happy with the results.

Comments: I shopped around and looked at different companies that all offered to do my eye surgery. I came across Accuvision and went to the Fulham Clinic.
My eye sight was really bad and I couldn’t function and do small everyday things without glasses or lenses. My Pre op Prescription was -17.00 and -16.00 with astigmatism.
Accuvision were the best company I found and won me over with their hospitality and friendliness. I genuinely felt their staff cared about me as a person and for my eyes.
Yeah the operation for lens implants are expensive (I had Toric Artisan implants fitted) but if your eye sight was as bad as what mine was then I’d recommend getting implants and definitely recommend Accuvision!

Comments: From booking the initial consultation to getting the surgery done, Accuvision were fantastic. I went to the clinic in Wetherby (Leeds) and Simon the consultant was brilliant. He answered all my questions honestly and put me immediately at ease.
I was initially under the impression from dealings with other companies that I would not be eligible for laser surgery due to my very poor prescription but Accuvision claimed they could help… and they have!
It’s now been a week after surgery and I can see as well as I could when I wore contact lenses!! The surgery was painless (though not the most comfortable experience of my life either – don’t go thinking you’ll be asleep on a comfy sofa and wake up to perfect vision) and the morning afterwards I could see well enough to drive!
I had no light sensitivity to speak of and other than a little dryness in the eyes which wore off after a couple of days it was as if I’d never had surgery!
Basically, I would recommend laser surgery to anyone – it has literally changed my life already and I wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend Accuvision’s exemplary treatment in conjunction with this.

Comments: What an outstanding experience, I cannot recommend the Accuvision team and their eyesight correction techniques highly enough. From the first time I contacted them through to the follow up visits after my operation, they have been the most efficient, polite, and thoroughly professional team. I first went to the London Clinic in Oct 2010 for an appraisal and I was pleasantly surprised to find the assessment as least pressured as possible. I was informed of all the options open to me and I was allowed to make the decision without feeling like I was being pushed one way or another. After a slight delay (personal circumstances) I booked in for surgery in Sept 2011, and had the treatment carried out on the Friday. Going back the next day for my 1st check up I already had 30:20 vision, amazing considering I was next to useless without my glasses. Three weeks later and I have almost 20:20 vision, and all of the discomfort is a distant memory. This was the biggest decision I have ever taken, entrusting my sight to a team of people who I barely knew, but I wouldn’t have changed anything. This has been the most exciting experience I have ever had and the best money I have ever spent.
