First class treatment from start to finish, and just a week on from my surgery I know have 20:20 vision! Having needed glasses for the last 10 years, finally being able to wake up with perfect vision each morning is amazing!
The team were great and kept me calm throughout the procedure.
The after care is also great, and the team ensure they answer any questions you have, before and after treatment.

Comments:
Had my surgery done 2 weeks ago and everything from start to finish has been fantastic. I had met Simon previously as my Optometrist and the personal care ethos of his optometry practice are also very much apparent at Accuvision. The team of surgeons themselves were reassuring and professional and I was amazed at how quickly I was in and out of the surgery room. There was a slight discomfort for a few seconds which felt like someone was pressing on my eye but other than that there was no pain. I could tell my vision had improved almost instantly but 24 hours later I was told I was legal to drive again. Would 100% recommend Accuvision Wetherby to anyone considering laser eye surgery…thank you!

Comments:
My name is Linda Ramsden and I have had lens implants and monovision for one year now and it’s fantastic.

On 18th March 2010 I had my assessment at Accuvision, Solihull, Birmingham, the assessment took about an hour. As I always wear contact lenses I had to leave these out for a week to give my eyes a rest for the assessment to be accurate. This I hated as my latest prescription (31.12.09) in my right eye was -12.75 (sph), -1.25 (cyl), 3.5 (axis) and my left eye -9.50 (sph), -3.00 (cyl), 1.70 (axis). As you can imagine I was extremely short-sighted and wanted to do something about it. I had the assessment and found out that I was not a candidate for laser treatment, this would have meant that laser surgery would still leave me with wearing glasses, this was not an option. So I decided to have lens implants at a cost of £5,000, which seems a lot of money but when you are spending £65.00 every month on contact lens and glasses every two years (£300.00) I would soon get my money back. The next step was to travel down to Accuvision in London to meet Mr Chad Rostron the eye consultant to assess if I am able to have lens implants.

My friend and I travelled down to London on 19th March met Mr Chad Rostron, had my assessment, I then paid and booked for lens implants, no going back now! Mr Chad Rostron explained that I would have to travel down to the Opthalmic Surgery Centre in Colindale London to have one eye operated on and four weeks later travel back down to London to have my other eye operated on. This still did not deter me from having lens implants. I felt nervous and excited but kept thinking of waking up and seeing the alarm clock next the bed, how wonderful!

My surgery dates are Wednesday 2nd May 2.30pm and Monday 28th June 1.30pm. You are advised to not travel on public transport so my husband and I travelled down on 2nd from Birmingham to London. I was very nervous but felt it was the right thing to do. We arrived at the surgery centre and I completed the necessary forms for the surgery. Mr Chad Rostron stated that I will be having my left eye operated on first as this will be my reading vision. He marked my forehead with an arrow above my left eye which seemed strange. My husband and I were taken upstairs and we sat in a ward. Here I had an enormous amount of drops in my left eye to anaesthetise it and dilate the pupil, this stung and made my eye water. I was then led by a nurse into the operating room where I had my eye anaesthetised with a local anaethestic. This involved having an injection below the eye which I must say was definitely not nice. This hurt the most. After than the surgery seemed a doddle. During the surgery I was aware of some shadows through my left eye then it was all over. A lovely nurse held my hand all the way through the operation which I was glad. After surgery I felt shocked they gave me some water and asked me to sit in a chair until I felt that I was ok to stand up. My left eye was patched and this was to stay on until the following morning. The centre gave me all the necessary drops for my eye to help recovery. We travelled home, I slept most of the way.

The following day I removed my bandage and my eye looked very sore. Can I say if you have this procedure make sure that you lie down after you take off your bandage as my head began to spin I lay down with my feet up and took it steady for the next few days. For the following few days my eye felt gritty and sore, the drops did sting but definitely helped the healing process. The following week I had a check up at Solihull Accuvision and my eye was healing superbly. As my left eye was my reading vision I did feel that I hadn’t gained much vision at all and when I put my contact lens in my right eye I did feel giddy although this took a couple of days for my brain to get used to. I could not wear my glasses this was a total no no as my head felt like it was going to spin out of control. Every day I had to put the eye drops in.

Four weeks later my husband and I travelled back to London and I had my right eye operated on. The anaethestic needle to numb my eye definitely hurt more this time. Think it’s because I knew what was coming and Ow did it hurt. The surgery as mentioned before seemed a doddle. Mr Chad Rostron did state after the surgery that my eye had bled during the surgery and the white of my eye would be red but not to worry as this would drain over the next few weeks. Mr Chad Rostron was very professional and he excels in his profession as an eye surgeon. My husband and I travelled home to Birmingham.

The following day I removed my bandage, remembering to put my feet up and take it steady. What a WOW factor this was, as soon as I took off my bandage I could see the painting on the other side of the bedroom every detail. What a WOW factor, even though I looked like I had an Orc eye from the Lord of the Rings this did not matter, my vision was perfect, I was able to read close up and then look up to see distance. FANTASTIC. I was told previously that my brain would take time to get used to monovision but it seemed to all fit into place. I had a check up at Solihull Accuvision a week later and my vision is spot on. What a feeling!! The eye drops continued for several weeks decreasing every week until no more drops. My last check up at Solihull was 3rd August and I came out of their smiling, my vision is brilliant.

A year later and my vision is spot on I feel like the luckiest person ever. I would like to thank Mr Chad Rostron for his careful surgery hands and for giving me my sight back. If I had to I would do this all over again.

Thank you Accuvision for everything.

Comments: After being turned down by a high street clinic, my husband did some research on the internet and we decided to go for a consultation at Accuvision as they treated what appeared to be more complex cases. I am delighted to say that they could help. I had my consultation on 20 May 2011. I was given a pack to take away and look through but I had already decided that I wouldn’t be needing a ‘take away’ I would be going through with the surgery. I booked that day and was lucky enough to be advised that there was a cancellation on 27 May 2011. I had the surgery yesterday and went back for a follow up appointment today to be advised that my vision is 20/20. Amazing! Yesterday I couldn’t see anything at all without my specs,(my prescription was +6.5)and today I’m writing this without specs or squinting!!.
The consultant I saw put me at ease immediately. I asked any amount of ‘silly questions’ and all were answered in a very calm and reassuring manner. My husband was invited into the consultation and was present throughout the tests. Any questions that he asked were dealt with in exactly the same way.
On the day of surgery, the consultant (Vik) took some further tests just to check that there had been no changes in my eyes. With that done I met the surgeon who fully explained the laser surgery process. Approximately 15 minutes later I was back in the reception area and recovering.
The surgery itself is incredible. During the surgery the surgeon talks you through what is happening. There was no pain at all. Yes, you are fully awake and you can see some of what is going on but you do not feel it. Your eyes are a little ‘waterlogged’ for a while afterwards which soon clears. You are asked to put drops in every hour which is no great hassle (I put mine in at the side of a football pitch in the afternoon about 4 hours later as my son was playing in a County cup final for his school), by which time I could see quite clearly.
The great thing for me was that I saw the same consultant from the first appointment, the service is a very personal one. It is geared towards you. Vik gave me all the options available (even saying ‘you can do nothing at all and continue wearing glasses). I didn’t mind wearing glasses, but was so dependent on them that if I put them down and couldn’t find them I couldn’t do anything! There was no ‘pushy sales pitch’. I did not feel obliged to go through with the surgery just because I’d had the consultation. All of the staff at the Fulham clinic were very friendly and welcoming, taking time to sit and talk to you. Another good thing for patients is that everybody sits together. People that have just had the surgery, sit alongside people that are waiting to go in for surgery. It gives you a chance to talk to them about their experience and you can immediately see the impact it has had on them which takes away any last minute nerves.
The service provided is very professional. The client is clearly very important and you walk away feeling that they have done everything possible to give you a positive experience.
I would certainly recommend Accuvision to anybody considering laser eye surgery and if you have been turned down and been told that you are beyond help, you may not be.

Fantastic service. Booked my free consultation for March 27th and had surgery on April 13th. Kim and Simon at the Wetherby clinic were very professional and courteous. Simon did a thorough examination of my eyes and due to my high prescription ( -6.5 and -6.0 and astigmatism) he decided I should have Wavefront LASIK customised for both eyes. He explained everything very clearly and also answered my questions and completely put me at ease. After the consultation there was no hard sell to book surgery there and then (unlike other competitors) and I decided that Accuvision would perform the surgery. Paid the £500 deposit and booked surgery for April 13th.
On the day of the surgery everything went smoothly. Although the procedure itself is a very ‘weird’ experience , I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort. It was very similar to a laser light show! After surgery I could see straight away, although it was a little bit blurry. Went back the next day to have my lens bandage removed and my eyes had healed very well. 3 days after surgery I can see very clearly without any pain or discomfort.
Accuvision have been superb from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Comments: As a fairly sporty person, I had been looking over the previous 10 years to have laser eye surgery to improve my vision, which had stabilised to around -4.5D. Therefore, I have experience of visiting different clinics, and whilst I cannot say if other clinics are really good, or not so, my instinct told me not to commit to surgery with a couple of them over the years.

One complication I had was ‘Keratoconus’, which Accuvision told me about 4-5 years ago. However, at this same period, whilst looking for second opinions, some other (reputable) clinics, did not diagnose this, and were very willing to take me for standard surgery. Despite, disappointment of not being able to have laser eye surgery many years ago, I’m absolutely delighted that Accuvision gave me the best advice objectively, using advanced imaging technology way back then.

It was even with greater pleasure therefore that a new treatment (Corneal Collagen Cross Linking) now exists for ‘Keratoconus’ – this to stem the worsening of the condition. This was all I expected when I went for my treatment in July this year. It was a complete bonus therefore that Accuvision were able to do secondary treatment to improve my uncorrected vision too. It is now 2 months later, and I must say that my dream for the last ten years has more or less been fulfilled, despite the long journey. In other words, I am spending my daily life without contact lenses and without glasses.

My testimonial for Accuvision is glowing. From their honest appraisal so many years ago, to the quality of their staff and the treatment and after care they offer. Every single member of Accuvision in Fulham treat and talk to you, they genuinely care. I had no hesitation in putting my eyes in their trust. The clinic team is led by Daryus Panthakey and for me it was important to know that I was not entrusting just experienced surgeons, but also one of the early pioneers in laser eye technology with my precious future vision; how lucky is that?!

I can say that I did my detailed research about many clinics, and Accuvision was one of the best on paper. Having had the chance to visit a few, I really feel that they are one of the best (if not the), and not just on paper. They walk the talk………..

I had my eyes lasered with Accuvision just over a year ago and can honestly say it is the best thing I have ever done. The expense was a large one for me, however I was never at any point pressurised into going ahead with treatment – the advice and initial consultation was all free and I felt that I would be totally safe in the surgeons hands. So safe that I even turned up alone on the day of surgery – and when it all became too overwhelming the lovely nurse held my hand and the whole team were so attentive during and after the process.
The next day waking up, opening my eyes and being able to see was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.
I have since been back for regular checkups and my eyes are still perfect now.
Highly recommended.

Comments: Came back from a year of travelling in South America for my check up at the Leeds clinic and found that my eyes are still in excellent shape – 20/15 vision. That’s 25% better than 20/20 vision and after being -6 before the procedure. Very happy!

Comments: I’m so glad I finally took the plunge and had my eyes lasered. Accuvision were thoroughly professional and friendly from the first consultation through to the aftercare appointments. I was pleased that they didn’t pressure me at my consultation – I have thin corneas and needed some time to think about whether I wanted to go ahead or not. The procedure was quick and completely painless (although obviously rather odd!!) and the recovery amazingly quick. I had -6.5 in each eye with astigmatism and thin corneas and have now achieved 20:20 vision. It’s such a fantastic feeling being able to see without glasses!
