Comments: I am writing this review 6 years after my surgery in August 2006 and I should say that I am very very happy I had the laser eye surgery.
My vision is still perfect on one eye and has decreased by 0.25 on the other, which is – as far as my and my current ophthalmologist are concerned – a brilliant result.
If I had known how much I would enjoy life without glasses I would have had the surgery years before I actually did.
Compared to the prices in continental Europe Accuvision are very competitive too.
Thank you by a happy customer.

Comments: I had worn specs for reading and PC work for about 10 years and thought of having laser eye surgery for the last few years but never thought I would be able to justify the cost, or that I would ever get round to having it done – it was just a dream. I turned 50 in April and my husband said I should just get it done. I couldn’t wait and the next month had my consultation at Leeds. They explained that the best procedure for me was Monovison surgery. Two weeks later I had my surgery. I was very nervous but there was no need to feel like this as I honestly could not feel a thing and the whole procedure on both eyes was over in less than 5 mintues. The following morning I returned to have the ‘bandage’ contact lenses removed and I was able to go straight back to work the same day. The cost was so reasonable, not necessarily the cheapest on the market but knowing that they have leading technology and equipment available, you know you are in safe and experienced hands. All the staff at Accuvision are so friendly and helpful, from the people you speak to on the phone, to the clinic staff and the surgeons. I would have no hesitation in recommending Accuvison to you if you are reading this. It’s a fantastic feeling when you realise you no longer have to put your specs on to see your phone, the computer, your camera, for cooking, reading food labels in the supermarket, reading price tags, putting make up on, painting your toe nails…!! If you are like I was, umming and aahhing about having it done, get your appointment booked now, I promise you will not regret it. If I could sum up the feeling in one word, it would be……. ‘FREEDOM’.

Comments: I had my surgery quite recently, I think around 6 weeks ago and I can honestly say I almost forgot I had anything done… I’ve adjusted so quickly and the discomfort is very mild, although be prepared for it.
I think the treatment is outstanding value for money. I paid 1400 pounds and I consider this extremely inexpensive in the long run, considering glasses cost at least 200 pounds for a decent pair, a high tech light pair would be 600. Glasses only correct your vision to 20/20 and I can assure you, unless your eyes are very bad, you will achieve much better with the surgery. Lenses apparently correct quite well, but they start from around 300/year even if you have the most minor astigmatism and they aren’t made for .25 prescriptions I think. And when you calculate your costs over the years that is say 15×300=4500 for lenses! So, basically what I am saying is, I know it sounds like a huge upfront fee for some people but please, do yourself the favour and save the money, as this is truly worth it.

As for my vision, like some other reviews, I was in awe even the first evening after the surgery as I can see better than I ever have even with glasses on; and I wasn’t that bad to begin with as I had -1.75 prescription. The trees and bushes I found perplexing and completely different to what I had experienced. I know it sounds daft and that’s what I thought when I was reading reviews by other people but the trees are soooo beautiful and rich in texture and so is the sky and everything else, and buildings are very sharp it turns out… I’ve achieved 20/6, which is fantastic acuity and roughly 3x better than nominal 20/20. I didn’t expect that, I just didn’t need to deal with glasses really!

I would like to mention that I have large pupils and I was told in another clinic that I cannot have lasik and have to go for lasEk, which wasn’t a problem here. They made no big fuss of it and I can report that I have no major side effects. The usual problem that people get is halos and glare and I do get that (or rather I always have but now it’s say 24-50% worse) but I consider this a small price to pay and am not bothered by it.

The treatment itself was somewhat unpleasant but far from unbearable and really don’t expect some pain or anything gross or scary. I did feel like punching the surgeon a bit and running away hehe but that’s just my instincts saying that if someone is prodding my eye that can’t be a good person! Well, I am only joking of course and assure you there is nothing majorly awful about the experience. Just people poking your eye and rinsing it and some pressure, which drives you nuts but ends so quickly that really people get over yourself and go get the surgery if that is what stops you!
I do like it that they have follow up and the service has been quite good, including the surgical staff.

All in all:
I would do it again without hesitation
It is great value for money
There are no scary long term risks
DO IT!

Comments: What an incredible experience from start to finish! After 12 years of struggling with my sight I now have better than perfect 20:20 vision after a quick and painless 10 minute surgery… I’m astounded at how quick and easy the process was, and how supportive and encouraging the staff were… I always felt in very loving and safe hands, and I cannot thank the team at Accuvision enough for this incredible gift of sight they have given me… I only wish I’d done it sooner!

Comments:
I’m 46 and had successfully worn contact lenses for years (strength -5.75). However, I had noticed that for the last couple of years I seemed to struggle reading menu’s etc. A visit to the optician offered no change to my prescription, so I was becoming increasingly frustrated. Following a colleague’s favourable report on her Lasik vision correction at Accuvision Leeds (Wetherby), I booked a consultation to discover to what extent treatment might benefit me.
I was immediately impressed by the Accuvision premises and the friendly staff. I felt completely at ease. I had done research on Lasik/Lasek and took along a list of questions, which Simon Falk was more than happy to go through. I was impressed by his knowledge and how he tailored his answers to my individual circumstances. He provided clear and easy to understand explanations and informed me about ‘mono-vision’: this involves leaving one eye slightly short-sighted to ‘improve’ near vision. He advised that this should prove beneficial to me, though it may take a little getting used to.
I had still not actually made up my mind at this point. However, I was put under no pressure whatsoever.
I went away, did further research on mono-vision and Presbyopia: apparently when you reach your mid-forties reading gets harder. This is because the lens and muscles inside the eye have become stiff with age. You can no longer flex the lens to give it the extra power needed for reading. This all made perfect sense, and it appears I’m at the perfect age to have this done! As there would be no charge for further surgery should I decide I couldn’t work with mono-vision, I decided I’d nothing to lose!
I booked in the following week; 3 July 2012, taking early advantage of the July 2012 special offer.
NB. I understand that they offer ’10 month interest free credit, after initial deposit’ that you may wish to consider.
On the day, everyone was very friendly, excited patients spoke openly to one another. It was all very relaxed and I found the surgery itself painless, pretty quick (minutes) and I personally found it all rather interesting.., and pretty ‘cool’!
I was curious about the ‘contact lens bandages’ thinking that I wouldn’t be able to see when I got home, but these turned out to just be those ‘prolonged wear’ contact lenses and I hardly noticed I had them in (Simon Falk removed them at my appointment the following day). You can ‘see’ straight after surgery, and after a short period of rest with your eyes closed, you trot back downstairs. Like everyone else, I had brought dark sunglasses with me, though I didn’t feel I needed them.
I administered the drops myself and experienced no discomfort whatsoever, so had no need for painkillers. My colleague had mentioned that the following morning she felt as though she had slept in contact lenses, but I was fine.
The second evening, it felt slightly like I had a stray eyelash in my left eye, but I ignored it; per the post-operative instruction sheet this isn’t unusual. The following morning it was fine.
I’m now at day five and on the whole would appear to have already adjusted to the difference in strength between my eyes. I can see distance clearly; including driving in the rain and fog the other day, and I can also read close things; including the date on my watch that has been a blur for the last two years! If I think about it, I can notice the difference in that one eye seems a little fuzzy, but I’m pretty confident that I won’t even notice that in a few weeks.
This treatment has exceeded my expectations and I fully recommend Accuvision Leeds.

Comments: I can’t compliment the team at Fulham enough. From my very first appointment, they were reassuring and professional, taking the time to explain everything I needed to know. The laser surgery itself was intense, but painless and over in minutes. Again the team were incredible. I wouldn’t have trusted my eyesight with anyone else! I now have perfect vision and can pick up detail I couldn’t even see with glasses. What a miracle – I am so grateful and would recommend Accuvision to anyone.

Comments: It’s amazing to be able to see and in what I call HD vision.
I’ve worn glasses for over 30 years, so was used to wearing glasses, quite liked it. However, the rising cost of my specs and inconvenience of never being able to see without assistance, coupled with seeing & hearing other people who had been cured gave me the incentive to investigate if it would work for me. Accuvision were amazing, they made me feel at ease immedidately, knew everyone by name and explained the whole procedure to me. I decided to go ahead.
The day of the surgery I was a little nervous, but didn’t need to be, it was really quick, two to three mins per eye and I walked out of the room without my glasses. After some discomfort, lasted for a few hours and being looked after for the day I was out and about – WITHOUT MY GLASSES, amazing. I had the surgery on Saturday morning and was back to work Monday morning.
If you are thinking about doing, just go and get a consultation. Everyone at Accuvision in Parsons Green London are very friendly, relaxed and experienced, if I can do it so can you !
