 I have been wearing glasses and contact lenses for 16 years. One of the reasons I looked at laser eye surgery initially was to do with cost. I thought over the long term it would be more cost effective than continuing with glasses and contact lenses at £25 a month. Then there was the general ease of doing things like camping, dancing and going on holidays, or just drinking coffee without your glasses steaming up.

I really liked the idea of not having to rely on contact lenses. My job demands that I sometimes work very long hours which means my contact lenses will remain in my eyes for a long time which makes my eyes dry and bloodshot which is not good when I am acting or being part of a period drama and wearing contact lenses!

I found Accuvision via a search engine. The consultation was ‘outstanding’ and I felt very reassured by the expertise and professionalism of the team and the fact that they are successfully treating complex and irregular prescriptions. My prescription was ‘mundane’ by comparison so it was very reassuring to have that level of expertise around me.

On the surgery day, I felt well looked after. I was in the clinic for a little over an hour with everyone taking time both before and after to check things through thoroughly. The surgery itself was a little intense and stressful but very brief and exactly what you would expect from any medical procedure. I had four clinicians in the room with me (as opposed to the one that I was promised by other companies), and felt reassured throughout.

The impression I got was that the Accuvision team were really caring even after the surgery day, something my friends, who have had treatment elsewhere, did not experience.

It was the little things that made such a difference to me on the surgery day and afterwards. I found it reassuring to see the same familiar faces at every appointment.

It is now over 2 months since I had surgery at the London clinic and the results have been fantastic and surpassed my expectations. Having been dependent on glasses and contact lenses for so long, it is a great feeling being free from the hassle they entail. Having no barrier between you and the world is wonderful, and simple things like playing football have become easier and more enjoyable. Going from a high prescription of -10.00 +2.00 in the right eye and -10.50 +2.25 in the left to now seeing clearly unaided still staggers me – I had almost convinced myself I would still need to wear glasses! I can’t fault Accuvision, all the staff there have been great. You get the feeling you’re in safe hands unlike other high street chains where they seemed more like salesmen which you don’t want when you’re talking about your eyes. They were honest, professional and friendly, but made sure I understood the risks. The procedure is nothing to worry about, quite surreal and a little uncomfortable but no pain. Dr Prashant Jindal was my surgeon and I was talked through what was happening all the time which was reassuring. It did take a while for my eyes to settle down and I’d say it was probably after a week before everything really came into focus – it was still a little blurry up until then but I was told not to worry and be patient which I didn’t do very well! Overall I’m very happy with the results and would recommend you give Accuvision a try if you are considering laser eye surgery – I’m so thankful I did!

I flew to London from Canada to do the cross-linking for my keratoconus at Accuvision as the clinic and the doctor at the time (Mr. Chad Rostron) were highly recommended. Everything about my experience was (and still is) perfect. Firstly, I was very well informed about my case and understood exactly what was going on and what had to be done. In addition, the procedure went smooth and the team was extremely professional and reassuring. I was comfortable and relaxed enough to do the procedure on both eyes the same day. Every time I happen to visit London, I go back for a check up, where the staff continue to be super friendly and make me feel at home! They also always answer all my questions and concerns! Finally, all appointments are on time and I never end up waiting more than I should.

I visited a few clinics in the US and the UK before deciding on Accuvision as this is a very big decision to make. Unlike the others, Accuvision quickly impressed me with their professionalism and lack of ‘pushiness’, unlike the many other clinics. The staff and doctors were fantastic at reassuring me (I’m a VERY nervous patient) and I couldn’t be happier with the results (20/20) or with the post-op care.
