I had laser eye surgery a few years back. It lasted less than 18 months. I asked at the time if it would interfere with future cataract surgery and was emphatically told it wouldn’t because ‘it is a different part of the eye’. I have just had cataract surgery and was warned that it was difficult to assess what strength lens would be needed because of the previous laser treatment. Result- wrong lens, poor eyesight, worse than before. It is ethical to encourage laser treatment? People don’t know what complications it can cause.

I recently made the decision to have my long sighted vision corrected. After the initial consultation with Accuvision I was in no doubt I had made the right choice trusting them with my sight. I’m not much of a review person but this team deserve credit, From my first phone call right through to the aftercare I can only say excellent. I cannot thank Accuvision enough !!! Having the surgery has totally changed my life – My prescription was -8 in both eyes & I was advised at the consultation that I JUST qualify for the surgery, I was also advised that my sight would be 95-99% better after surgery. Well-4 weeks after surgery my vision is BETTER than expected!!. Its like I’ve never worn glasses & I wore contacts & glasses for over 20 yrs. I highly recommend Accuvision for your surgery, very professional team-the surgeons put you at ease throughout, as soon as I sat up OMG the difference was unbelievable- I had the biggest grin on my face, I still cannot get over how amazing it is to see without glasses. I can finally see without glasses!
Operation itself was a little uncomfortable but over so quickly. You just need to think "a few minutes of this and I’ll be able to see without glasses."
Everyone I dealt with was a professional, explained things to put me at ease and answered any questions.

I always felt I was in good hands. Being able to wear ANY sunglasses last summer was fantastic! I always had to wear contacts and because I have hayfever I’d get itchy eyes . Contacts would come out, sunglasses off and glasses on which made me squint.

Now I can wear sunglasses…. Yay!

In August 2016 I had AccuWave Topography Guided (T-CAT) combined with Corneal Cross Collagen Linking surgery at the Parsons Green clinic, London.

Since childhood I had many disappointing visits to the eye hospital where the Dr would always exclaim
"Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do; you have non-compliant eyes
– it seems that your eyes will always just be batting for different sides"!
Glasses: I really, really tried – but sadly I never found any frames for my small face that felt quite right,
plus I never did get the hang of blindly searching for them in the middle of the night.

I wore contact lenses for years – man, they were uncomfortable and got so dry
that sometimes after a long day at work my eyes felt so itchy that I could cry.
All my friends went swimming underwater and I would watch them enviously
through steamy green-eyed goggles by the poolside.
And then, one day I saw an ad for Accuvision (and after reading every single one of the outstanding reviews)
I thought "that looks like something I should try".

Throughout my life-changing vision journey AccuVision was always right by my side;
with such expertise and great attention to detail, they always took their time.
Before, during and after the surgery I was treated as though even with all the other eyes in the world;
the only eyes that mattered to AccuVision were MINE.

During my recovery it was so reassuring to know that 24 hours a day,
the friendly voice of an eye-specialist that I had personally met was always at the end of the phone-line.
And yes, (probably just like everyone else) I did ring that "panic" line and down the phone I cried
– when frustratingly I couldn’t get the eyedrops in by myself for the very first time.
"You’re doing great’ they said, ‘just rest up and listen to your audiobook, then in a few days you’ll be absolutely fine".

It is clear to see that making your vision 100% great fills AccuVision with so much pride.
I feel so happy that now my smile comes not just from my mouth but also from my eyes;
even in the swimming pool my goggle-less eyes are open wide.

 I had treatment about a month ago at Accuvision for my myopia and astigmatism. I was not a typical patient, when I was 10 years old I contracted shingles in my eyes and since then have had to wear glasses and contact lenses.

My mother has also worn contact lenses for many years and I noticed that she was finding it difficult to wear them because they were becoming more uncomfortable so for these reasons I eased off wearing contact lenses and went back to glasses.

 When I started riding a motorbike I found glasses quite restrictive so began to considered laser eye surgery for myself. I went to the high street clinics initially who saw me for a consultation and said I could have the laser eye surgery until they checked the notes and due to having shingles at 10 years old stated that I would not now be eligible for the surgery. It felt like I had not ‘ticked’ all the boxes so I was excluded from surgery.

 I finally contacted AccuVision as I felt that my eye condition should be treatable. I called them in my lunch hour and had a very positive conversation about my vision. AccuVision invited me in for a no obligation consultation to see if laser eye surgery was possible for me. I felt like I was being treated as an individual and not just part of a ‘box ticking’ exercise.

 The process was more humane, being able to speak to someone first and them showing a real interest in my vision and how they could help me was very reassuring.

 The treatment day was amazing. I read up about it beforehand and understood the potential risks involved. My mum had arranged to come with me but by the time she sat down I had already been treated, it was so fast and efficient. The surgery team were excellent and talked me through the whole surgery experience.

 I wouldn’t want to push people to have laser eye surgery but I could not recommend it enough. Everyone is different but for me it is probably the best thing I have done for myself. My quality of life is so much better all because of a 10 minute surgery and taking it easy for a week after.

I would like to thank everybody at Accuvision Wetherby for an all round excellent professional service from my initial consultation November 2015 then having laser treatment December 2015 (best Christmas pres ever) I would like to say to any body thinking of having this done, put any reservations aside and go see these guys its so simple and quick totally painless but totally life changing Thanks again I cant stop recommending you to all my friends and colleagues

I have been wearing glasses for 20 years and contact lenses for 15 years. For two years my eyes also became very dry when wearing contact lenses and they were quite painful. So it was time to change something! Accuvision have been very professional, friendly and make me feel welcome all the time. The surgery itself was very quick, painless and hassle-free. It was a great feeling to see everything immediately afterwards. I still reach for my glasses when I wake up in the morning, and it’s great when I remember I don’t need them!
