Very thorough, professional, informative & friendly at the Solihull clinic during & after my eyes were lasered. I had my eyes done a month ago (-5.5 in eah eye) & now have 20/20 vision. I still go to look for my glasses though when I get up in the night or get out the shower, takes a couple of minutes to acknowledge that I can see without them. Also went to optical express in Birmingham & was very glad I didn’t go with them. When I asked any technical questions they didn’t seem to know the answers. They even told me that you don’t have eye drops to numb the eyes before they do the laser surgery. They also wanted to charge £2600 for it to. Felt more like a cattle market! Very happy with accuvision’s service & the result.

I wanted to give you a brief step by step guide through the process from initial enquiry through to surgery and the follow up.

I have been wearing glasses for around 10 years now and being in my late 20’s and still playing a fair bit of sport & surfing; I had become increasingly annoyed with wearing glasses and uncomfortable, tired eyes after a day of wearing contact lenses.

After my initial enquiry I received an appointment confirmation & DVD in the post the next day. I found this fantastic in giving me an idea of what to expect during the initial consultation and provided I was a suitable candidate, what I could expect from the next steps.

Upon arriving for the first appointment, I was impressed to hear that Accuvision treat a lot of the patients other laser surgery clinics cannot – already I began to feel more assured!

I had my eyes tested which I am always quite frustrated about, having to admit to myself that my vision is just not at all good!

Then, on to the more specialised checks which I found very reassuring, given we have only one set of eyes, I for one want to be sure that the best available technology will be at the surgeons disposal.

I was a suitable candidate for AccuWave Lasik treatment and booked a time to come back in for my surgery.
I arrived on the day, being sure to have followed all of the pre surgery requirements and was ready to go – slightly apprehensive, but this was more due to the unknown. I watched the testimonials from the DVD though & I was never scared or in doubt of having the surgery done.
I was taken though after my first checks were done and lay down ready to take the next steps in regaining my vision.

The process was literally 5 minutes per eye and not in the least bit painful, even though I was preparing myself for some discomfort there was none of it! I had to wait in the reception before going back in for a quick check, my surgeon Dr Brett Halliday, did notice a bit of debris but upon removing the protective contact lens found it was on the contact lens itself – so no need to worry and sent me home to rest.

I have been for my one day follow up and am overjoyed in that I left with 20-20 vision and was told by Vic that it will still get better as things tighten up and the eye continues to heal!

I can thoroughly recommend the clinic, staff, surgeons and the procedure and have already suggested my wife and family consider having it done as this will be truly life changing!

I had my treatment at Accuvision in Fulham and the service they provided me was absolutely amazing.

I had previously had a consultation with Optical Express on Shaftesbury Avenue in London. I was appalled by their consultation and sales methods and I knew 100% that I would never let them near my eyes. Their advertising was so misleading. They say their fees start from £395 per eye but they ended up quoting me £3040. Then in the actual consultation they put the drops in my eyes that dilate the pupils. It severely blurred my vision but they insisted I then read and sign an 8 page document. I told her I couldn’t see it properly because they had blurred my vision with the drops but she insisted that I tried. I then said their fee of £3040 was more than I had been expecting to pay. She started pressuring me to hand over a £200 deposit so they could start processing a loan for me to cover the fees. I told her I didn’t want to take out a loan and I wanted time to think about it. She then started telling me that they were getting very booked up and if I didn’t pay the £200 deposit then I may not be able to have treatment for a couple of months. It was a very uncomfortable experience and I would never recommend them to anyone. At one point in the consultation I was left sitting there for over an hour. They kept telling me someone would be with me soon. They only really seemed interested in the money and showed no concern for the needs of individual patients.

I discovered Accuvision by doing a search online. I was attracted to them because they only offered Wavefront which was the treatment I was interested in. I booked a free consultation with them. During the consultation I learnt more in 5 minutes than I did in 2 hours with Optical Express. Accuvision carefully explained everything that could go right and everything that could go wrong. They were so thorough and explained every possible detail of the proceedure. They told me absolutely everything I should do before and after the treatment. The clinic was beautiful and clean and modern and I felt I could trust them. I booked myself in for treatment a week later.

They charged me £1700 for Custom Wavefront Lasik. My prescription was -5.00 and -3.25. I was getting a better treatment for half the price quoted by Optical Express.

The actual day of the proceedure went very smoothly. I arrived at 10am and was finished by 10.25am. First they took some more measurements and compared them to the ones taken a week before in my consultation. I was then taken into another room where I met the surgeon and signed the consent form. Then it was straight through to Laser room. I was told to lay down on the bed and they immediately got to work. They put drops in my eyes so I couldn’t feel anything. My left eye was covered while they worked on the right one. To be honest I kind of switched off and didn’t really know what was happening. You see some lights and you feel a bit of pressure when they cut the flap. It’s quite intense but I almost felt like I was asleep and having a strange dream. You hear a small motor noise as they cut the flap and then it all goes blurry as they pull the flap back. You feel no pain at all. Then the laser pulses for a few seconds and you smell a bit of burning. Again, there is absolutely no pain. Then you see the surgeon putting the flap back in place and covering it with a bandage contact lens (like a daily disposable contact lens). Then it’s done and they start on the other eye. I think the nurse took my pulse at this point but I was fine.

Ten minutes later I was sitting up and could see. My vision was a little hazy but I could see perfectly through the haze. I walked back to the waiting and sat there for 20 minutes with my eyes closed. I couldn’t resist opening my eyes every couple of minutes as I could see so clearly. It was like a miracle. Then the surgeon put some more drops in my eyes, gave me some instructions for the next 24 hours and sent me on my way. It was so quick and easy and I couldn’t believe that an hour earlier I couldn’t even walk around without my glasses on for fear of bumping into things.

I was so impressed by the service given to me by Accuvision and their unbeatable and honest pricing. It’s rare to find an organisation that shows such care and attention to their patients. I felt completely at ease and I knew I was in safe and experienced hands. They next day they took out the bandage contact lens and I had better-than-perfect vision. My results were even better than they had expected and they said my vision would continue to improve over the next few days, which it has. I cannot thank them enough.

Accuvison don’t give you a choice of different lasers like Optical Express do. They tell you what is best for you and they don’t offer the choice of using a cheaper, less effective laser as is the case at Optical Express.

I cannot praise Accuvision enough for offering the best and latest technology at reasonable and honest prices. Our eyesight is so precious and should only be trusted with the best lasers. That’s what Accuvision offers. They don’t compromise on quality, they don’t overcharge, they don’t do misleading advertising and they don’t pressure you at any point.

If you want the very best then only go to Accuvision.

I decided to have laser surgery with Accuvision in November after becoming frustrated with my contact lenses getting in the way of my sports. My parents both had the operation with a different company in 2002 and have had no problems which definately set my mind at ease. After lots of research i decided to go with Accuvision because of the feel i got when i went for a consultation. The place looked very professional and the staff were extrememly friendly and helpfull.

I compete in Triathlon for the GB age group team and wearing my lenses while racing and training was becoming a really big hassle. A couple of the problems i encountered were difficulty in getting the lenses into my eyes for a 6am trianing session, and i developed very dry eyes late in the afternoon. I also had worries over losing my lenses in the swim stage of a race and getting sweat/sun cream in them which laft me with blurred vision for a few hours! Not to mention the inconvienience of wearing glasses in gereral day-to-day life.

After my consultation i decided to have the surgery the following week. Everything went as planned and i felt no pain throughout the whole thing. It’s over before you know it! It’s now just over 6 weeks post surgery and my vision is excellent. I initially had dry eyes and a little ghosting around objects but this has fully dissapeared as the eyes have healed, and i am really impressed with the results.

The change has had an excellent effect on my life and i no longer have to plan things around wearing glasses or contacts, and i have no worry with my vision during my sporting exploits.

I would definately reccommend Accuvision and would like to thank them for all of their hard work and help.

Can’t express enough how happy I am. I never appreciated how precious sight is until I had it fully restored by Accuvision. My sight was a bit complex with a stigma and long vision but I now have almost 20/20 vision. The first day after the operation I felt like I had the sight of an eagle and realised that I had not seen properly for years through glasses. An absolute miracle and the best money I’ve ever spent. Highly recommend the Kings Road surgery, absolutely brilliant and a fantastic after service. My life feels like it’s started over again, can’t recommend this surgery enough.

Mid 2006, after reading some articles, I decided that finally the time had come to get rid of my glasses ( -8/-6.5, -3/3.5 cyl) and go for laser surgery. After some research on the web I choose Accuvision in London, basically because of the very positive testimonials. The intake confirmed they were indeed thorough, professional and very pleasant. Although Joan was the first woman to call me thick, she fortunately just referred to my corneas ! So good news. And she made me reconsider my decision not to have a reading correction in one eye, for which I am still very grateful.

In July I had the operation. It went faster then expected and not painful at all. Unfortunately my distance eye did not correct 100% and my eyes were dry and sensitive for a few months. But checkups were always courteous and I felt I was very well taken care of and well informed and advised. For a short time in October I nearly lost hope as my reading eye was trying to help me see in the distance and I had to wear reading glasses again. However, when it turned out my distance eye had got stuck at +2, I could correct for distance with off-the-shelve reading glasses with one glass removed. And that improved my reading again. In December Accuvision advised that now my eyes seemed stable enough to come back early 2007 for a check up with the possibility of a correction to the distance eye the same day.

This went very well and in September I had my last check and walked out with 20/20 distance vision and perfect reading of the smallest print without glasses. I can 100% recommend Accuvision, especially if you need a strong correction. They do what they say in the intake: if they consider your eyes suitable for Laser treatment their quote will fix your eyes. I never lost confidence in their professionalism and dedication to get it right. Full marks to Darius and his team. Even if things did not go as smoothly as I hoped I would not hesitate to do the treatment again, and only with them. The result is well, well worth it !

We left any comments until our final check up so as to give the full picture. Both my wife and I had treatment last May. My wife had monovision correction (one eye for reading and one for distance) and I had my acute astigmatism corrected. Cost for both of us £3400, half the price of other quotes we had. I never believed that I would ever rid myself of glasses. We must give the staff at Accuvision 200% for their care, professionalism and total customer service. Everything was 1st class and truly exceeded our expectations. If you are thinking of having laser surgery don’t look elsewhere.

From start to finish the customer experience I’ve had with Accuvision has been FIVE STAR! -3 in both eyes to better than 20:20 is truly life changing.

While it comes down to motivational reasons to go ahead with the surgery, to have gone through the process with a professional and caring team has made this all the more enjoyable a process.

Too many highlights to mention, but being talked through the prodecure by the surgeon during the producure is both engaging and all the more relaxing / distracting. The procedure itself is 4 mins per eye, painless and only some mild discomfort. And the level of aftercare, check ups, wearing a protective lens for 24 hours, and overall advice is clear and direct.

I would heartily recommend this clinic to anyone who has decided to go ahead with Lasik surgery!

It’s been four weeks since I had lasik surgery at Accuvision in Solihull. Having worn glasses for 13 years and having a strength of -6 in both eyes, I can’t begin to explain how fantastic it is to be glasses and contact lens free. I chickened out before when I went to a different clinic but Accuvision were fantastic. My consultant, Vikash, was lovely, really put me at ease and took time to explain the procedure and was very patient with me even though I must’ve asked him the same questions over. The surgery was quick, painless and I could see as soon as it was over. I’m going for my second check-up appointment in a couple weeks time and I’m confident that everything is fine. Accuvision also worked out cheaper than the other two places I got quotes for and one of the other clinics I went to, told me that I was not a suitable candidate when I really was! Have recommended the clinic to all glasses wearers, my mum is booked in next month and my husband is going for a consulation. As I said, would recommend to anyone – very friendly staff, they haven’t tired with my phonecalls and they answer all questions.
