I underwent the procedure on 14th August 2009, and have just had the follow-up session which simply confirmed that which I already know – eyesight is back to where it should be. The pleasure that can be gained from such simple things as not getting your glasses steamed up all the time.

Insofar as I am aware, the technology is not the differentiator here, it is more about the team, the follow-up and support. The guys at the Fulham office were outstanding, even down to things like remembering your name and being able to relate to what it is that you are going through and the decisions that you are having to make. This is a big step, not something to be taken lightly, however if you do decide to take it further – use this lot. I should have done it years ago

Having +4.5 & +5.5 I never thought I would be able to have my vision corrected. I also had stigmatism in both eyes.I must say it is just amazing waking up and not having to reach for the glasses. Having worn glasses since I was 3 years old It took a while to stop trying to push the non existing glasses back up my nose. I’m now 47 and had the surgery nearly 18 months ago and have just bought a £10 pair of reading glasses to keep at work for reading
very small text. But this was explained to be before the surgery that in my case and age reading glasses were only a couple of years away.

In my case it took 6-8 months to lose the halos around lights, that is now gone completely. You must remember that it can takes weeks to really settle down to get you final result. Just don’t panic. My prescription was quite high so the 1st month was a bit up and down.

I say go for it, the team is very re-assuring and don’t give you any unrealistic expectations.

If you’re thinking about laser eye surgery then I can certainly recommend Accuvision.

I’d worn contact lenses for 35 years to correct my short sight (-4.0 and -4.5). Now in my early fifties I was also needing to use glasses for reading and pc work.

I went along for my free consultation with high hopes that I would be a suitable candidate. Had a very thorough examination by Vik, who also told me about possible risks and realistic expectations and outcomes. Monovision seemed to be a feasible option for me which would enable me to dispense with lenses and glasses with my left (dominant) eye being corrected for long sight and my right eye slightly undercorrected for near site. I was planning to go ahead there and then, however, Vik explained that because I had worn contact lenses for many years it had distorted the shape of my left cornea and suggested that I wait a further month in order to allow the cornea to relax….a bit of a pain as I was then left with the prospect of only wearing my reading glasses for a further month (no lenses)…but it was well worth the wait!

So it’s now just under two weeks since the laser eye surgery (performed by Chad Rostron) and I am delighted with the result. My eyesight both near and far is better than I can remember even with my contact lenses. The surgery really does not hurt (honestly!!), it’s an intense few seconds but all over before you know it. On the evening of the laser eye surgery my eyes were comfortable, no pain or irritation and my sight was really good…..and it has improved further since and I’ve had no problems getting used to monovision.

I’ve been for two post surgery checks now with Joan and all appears to be healing well and in line with their expectations. Left eye is already 20/20 vision. The aftercare is great and nothing is too much trouble.

Exceptional service – thank you to all the team!

I started to wear glasses at age 7. I moved onto wearing contact lenses only from age 16 to age 37. My contact prescription was -6 and -6.5 with some astigmatism.

I had wanted to get my eyes lasered since I first heard about it around age 20. Contacts/glasses had always got in the way when I played sport. For the last few years I had been aware of Accuvision and the excellent feedback from customers.

I had excellent vision wearing contacts and my hesitancy on having the operation was due to my strong prescription and there being a small chance of not quite getting 20/20 vision after the operation. I was also very wary of having a flap on my eyeball that may be a weak point on my eye if my eye ever received a knock.

I had almost resigned myself to having the flap operation, then sometime last year I became aware of the Trans-epi treatment at Accuvision. I ramped up my research again and basically decided I wanted it done and I wanted Accuvision in London specifically Chad Rostron to do it.

I was 80% certain I wanted the trans epi treatment but I wanted to hear Accuvision’s advice.

You have to wear glasses for 7 days before the consultation so I booked in for the consultation and treatment on the same day simply because I did not want to wear glasses for any longer than necessary!

So on the 6th March 2009 I went for my consultation and Accuvision advised I was suitable for either the flap operation or Trans-epi. I choose Trans-epi simply because I could not bear the thought of having a potential weak spot on my eye where the flap had been created.

The operation was done by Chad Rostron and now 4.5 months later I have 20/15 vision in my left eye and 20/20 in my right eye.

It’s absolutely amazing to not wear contacts anymore and also not have the worry of a flap weak spot on my eye.

I would suggest to not have the consultation and operation on the same day, as on surgery days they are very busy and my consultation felt slightly rushed. When I had my check ups after the surgery it all seemed more relaxed as it was not a surgery day.

For 24 hours after the operation my eyes were very sore and I could not open them, just to use the drops every hour. By day 3 I could open them ok but it was day 7 before they felt fine. I would suggest 10 days off work.

My eyesight then settled down but was variable over the next 6 weeks, and very sensitive to bright light. By month 4 they were in my mind perfect and this was backed up by my check-up last week.

Overall incredible! Thanks Accuvision!

I attended surgery on Friday 6th March having been referred to Accuvision by one of my colleagues who had undergone treatment 5 years ago. He had been impressed by their professionalism and commitment to patient care. They did not disappoint! From start to finish, the whole experience has been absolutely first class, whether its been booking appointments or the attention to detail whilst going through the initial consultation and the surgery itself, accuvision are totally about the patient and making sure that you are at the centre of their efforts. i cant speak highly enough about them or the results of the operation. Yes I wish I had done it sooner, yes it is as awesome as they suggest and yes, accuvision do it better than anyone else!

It’s just over 7 years since I had my vision corrected. No problems, no halos, good night-time vision.
Everyone was extremely professional, courteous, patient etc. (I had been for a consultation somewhere else, previously, what a difference…)
Not a day goes past that I’m not aware of how wonderful it is to have such good sight after years of wearing thick glasses/ contact lenses.
Probably the best money we’ve ever spent.
A big thank you to everyone at Accuvision.

I had my surgery on 11/07/09. I had been wearing glasses for over 20 years for astigmatism – prescription: Right eye cylinder -4.25 axis 8.0. Left eye – cylinder -4.25 axis 175. I had also had to wear varifocals because reading had becoming difficult
The consultation was easy and the staff were very helpful but most importantly there was no pressure selling unlike other companies. I was told that I could also have ‘monovision’ that meant that I would not need to wear reading glasses. The total cost was £2300.
The surgery – this was uncomfortable rather than painful and the whole process lasted no more than a couple of minutes for each eye. The worst part for me was having to wear clear contact lenses for 24 hrs as I had never worn lenses before.
Post surgey – I had to go back to work on 13/07/09 – we had an Ofsted inspection on the 14/07/09! My eyes were sore and distance vision was not brilliant but your vision fluctuates anyway. They had warned me about this. I returned after a week for my check up and my distance vision was 20/20 and I could read smallest print on the test sheet easily. I still have slight fluctuations with my sight but this is becoming less and less – just as Accuvision said that it would.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Accuvision. Just go for it – brilliant.

I was extremely impressed with the overall experience and feel that Accuvision offer the best value for money service of all its competitors. The staff are always friendly and take the time to explain fully what is going on. I was amazed that the procedure was so pain free, and that the results were instantaneous. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. Top marks for Accuvision, truly professional yet personal service.
