I had my eye surgery on Thursday at the Solihull clinic and am 100% satisfied with the service and the treatment. I am normally a nervous wreck when doctors or dentists are concerned but I felt nothing but calm and relaxed at the clinic including DURING the surgery. Accuvision were recommended by several work colleagues and I myself recommend them to others. It is wonderful to be able to see clearly without specs or contacts!!

Hello. I had laser treatment at Accuvision yesterday (25th July) at 4pm..so the experience is still very fresh. My prescription was left eye – 10, right eye – 7.25, with an astigmatism of 165 in the left eye. As I was travelling from Somerset, I booked the consultation and treatment for the same day, and didn’t know if I would be suitable or not for the procedure until my appointment..

At the end of the consultation I was advised that because of my unusually thin cornea (490), a ‘perfect’ outcome could not be achieved, and asked if I was content to undergo the treatment with the understanding that I would still need glasses or lenses for certain activivities. I had already decided that I would want to proceed, and settle for a significant improvment in vision, so I said yes. There was absolutely no pressure and in fact alternative treatments were discussed openly.

A little over 24hrs later, my vision is remarkably improved, particularly distance vision. Near vision is still rather filmy, but I’m typing this with no problem. My consultant explained that the surgeon was able to cut a very thin flap, so that there was more available tissue to laser, and therefore a better outcome was likely.

I was extremely impressed with the staff at Accuvision – a combination of professionalism, integrity and compassion. There was no hard sell at all, and evidently a genuine concern for the patient’s wellbeing is to the fore..

The op itself was rather uncomfortable and a very strange 10 minutes, but painless and over very quickly..

So far, so good..even at this very early stage I’m delighted with the transformation in my vision..

I cannot praise the staff at Accuvision enough. This was one of the scariest times of my life and they were superb – professional, caring, thorough. I will be recommending them to anyone who wants to listen. Thanks also to those people who went before me & offered support & advice. Much appreciated.

The staff at ACCUVISION truely are miracle workers, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

From the moment I arrived in the clinic, the customer care was excellent.

The prep work was conducted thoroughly and every single step was explained clearly in plain English. (Great job Vik!)

For what must have been the most worrying moments of my life so far, the surgery turned out to be a near to painless, 10 minute miracle!! (I’m eternally greatful Mr Rostron)

Don’t expect to be zapped and to be able to drive home right away but within 24 hours, my slight itchyness had disappeared and I still can’t quite believe that I dont need contact lenses/glasses any more!!

Once again – THANK YOU ACCUVISION – Your company rates 20/20, as now does my vision!!

I think I’m pretty much a text book case of how it’s all supposed to go. Had -6 and -4.5, had a couple of consultantions whilst trying to pluck up courage then had the Op. Very intense, very short (seconds), nothing nice about it but no pain. I certainly felt they were professionals. Eyes were immediately fixed, slight soreness for an hour or two, very slight haziness for a day, then better than 20:20 the week after. Everything went absolutely to plan, they did everything right and everything turned out good!! Magic Laser Eyes!

Amazing… I have worn glasses and contact lenses for 30 years. I had the surgery a day and a half ago and my vision is better than with my glasses – and they said it will only be at its best in a week or so. It is a very strange, but wonderful, sensation to be able to see unaided. The surgery took less than 5 mins in total and was completely painless. I wish I had had it done before. Thank you very much.

In summary I would like to highly recommend AccuVision. 10/10 on all counts in my opinion.

{long version}
My surgeon was Mr Chad Rostron and I was seen throughout the consultation, surgery day and aftercare by Mr Patel. I have just got back from my 1 week post-op check-up and have had confirmed what I already thought – my vision has been corrected to 6/6. The surgery was carried out smoothly, seamlessly and very professionally. I can honestly say I felt no pain whatsoever. My prescription was quite a simple one with a little astigmatism in my right eye.

I had a consultation with a leading competitor who suggested that really I should be opting for the Rolls-Royce treatment with intralase, zyoptics and goodness knows what else at a price of £3,600. In my opinion there was a good deal of pressure to book up there and then. This same company was staffed with generally young people who at the time of my appointment were larking around. The surgery was not dissimilar to your average rented office space. I also had the experience of being shoved around to at least three different people and had to have multiple re-tests which appeared to be as a result of operator errors etc. The technology was pretty amazing though – state of the art!

I then went to AccuVision in Solihull. What struck me immediately was the fact that I walked in to a spotlessly clean, sterile clinic. There was no mistaking the fact that this place did surgery seriously. I was seen by a consultant who checked my eyes over and talked me through the whole process – start to finish. I quizzed them about the lasers they use and the differences in prices between companies and service. I genuinely felt the company cared about you and was providing a good, honest and quality service at a fair price. I opted to have the surgery done pretty soon after the consultation and went to the London surgery, I have to say I was a little anxious not just about the operation but also about whether I would find a similar environment and staff. I was not disappointed and I was pleased to see the familiar face of my consultant from the previous week.

Conclusion:
I think that the more expensive companies maybe taking advantage of people’s fears. What price would you put on your eyes and the success of a surgery? At the end of the day though, I have normal vision after a surgery with no pain – I fail to see what over £2,000 extra could possibly have given me, especially given the issues I have suggested around customer service.

I’d worn glasses since I was 4, and was long sighted with a very uneven prescription. Knowing that lasik had historically been used for short sighted people, I was pleasantly surprised to be told that I was suitable.

I was zapped in September 2005, and to my way of thinking a trip to the dentist is far more unpleasant. The procedure is slightly surreal, but quick and painless.

Having been long sighted I was told that it would take some time for everything to settle down, and it did. I am now delighted with my 20:20 vision, albeit my left eye is still slightly dominant, and I do get the odd day where computer text can be slightly blurry round the edges. I now work without glasses, and eyestrain which was a real bugbear for me is pretty much a thing of the past.

The staff at Accuvision were fantastic both before and after the operation. You do not meet the surgeon until the day of the surgey, which some may find a little odd, but didn’t cause me a problem.

On the proviso that you are realistic about yuour expectations, go for it. Was it £2K well spent? Definitely.

Hey Everyone, I just had my eyes lasered on 27/02/06 and i have 20/20 vision in both eyes. I am so happy iv told just about everyone i know i had it done LOL.

Right, down to my experience it happened so quick as it only takes a few minutes to do for each eye. If you are getting it done stay calm as there is no pain then once done DO NOT RUB YOUR EYES WHATSOEVER as this will probably cause major complications. After surgery i went straight home to my bed and kept my eyes closed for the rest of the day whilst inserting eye drops every hour. Literally the next day i woke up shocked to see really clear. Make sure you take enough time off work my personal need was at least a week as i needed to slowly and safely get used to my new eyes plus i wanted it to heel as much as possible before i went back to my stinking computer at work Lol. Its been 8 days now and my eyes are still adjusting and varying, as in my left eye is better one day then my right is better another so i reckon a couple more weeks it should be sweet.

I Cant thank everyone in Accuvision they are all profesional and make you feel easy at all times. I did a lot of research before doing this surgery and knew Accuvision is pretty much the best out there and although you cant put a price on eyes its really good value and worth every penny.

If you are not sure whether to go for a consultation then you have no idea what you are missing!!!

I will keep you all posted on my monthly check up!!
