I have been wearing glasses pretty much for the last 16 years and simply could not live without them. Having moved on to contact lenses, it was a great feeling as with all the sports I play, there was freedom from the glasses. Contact lenses still did not give you the full comfort with dust and getting dry. Having had my LASIK done, it does feel that I am living a whole new life with all the freedom from glasses and contacts. I still cannot imagine that this is the real world and not just a dream. Any person considering any form of laser correction, I would highly recommend it. Staff at the London clinic make you feel at home and make sure you are calm and no nerves… very welcoming so a huge shout out to you guys! Thank you for every thing and keep the good work up.

I was more than happy with the service at the Accuvision. Staff were friendly and very supportive during the procedure as well as during the aftercare. I would definitely recommend using this clinic to anyone thinking about the laser eye surgery.

I had my surgery just over a month ago. Clinical team kept on saying my vision shall improve as it takes a few months to be at the best. One of my eyes is a little blurry even after the surgery. However i do not need to wear glasses or contact lenses and i have good enough vision to driving standards. A little disappointed that one of my eyes is slightly blurry. I know laser does not guarantee 100% 20/20 vision. Im glad i paid for it at the summer offer price rather than paying full and then being ever more disappointed! Overall, it feels great to wake up to be able to see 🙂

I had been wearing glasses due to my short sightedness since my teens. In my early twenties I started wearing contacts, although I usually wore them over the weekends/occasions. Therefore majority of the time I wore my glasses. I had been thinking about laser eye surgery for some time and like everyone else, it was a daunting prospect. My twin sister had hers done earlier this year and everything seemed to go well for her and I had an idea of what went on, as I attended the consultation and the surgery day with her. I had three consultations before I made the decision of who to go with. Two of these were high street clinics and the third being Accuvision. My gut feeling was to go with Accuvision, I felt as though I was given all the relevant information with Accuvision and overall they were the cheapest option (although as everyone would agree, the price was not the main factor of my decision). On the day of the surgery I was surprisingly relaxed. I had the surgery and I was in there for about 15 minutes (left eye -3.00 right eye -2.75 with some stigmatisim). I felt no pain other than pressure on my eyes, when the surgeon was creating the flap. Immediately after my surgery I took some pain killers, preparing for the pain which was to come. My sister complained of her eyes stinging and hurting quite a lot. However I was very lucky not to have neither. Other than my eyes being watery, I was waiting for the discomfort but nothing came. I rested most of the day and ensured I kept on top of the eye drops as instructed. By the next day, my vision started clearing for me and I knew it worked!!! I have also not suffered from dry eyes and had my 4 week appointment with Accuvision last week and can say with satisfaction that I have better than 20:20 vision. There is no feeling like it and if I was to describe it, I would say I feel liberated. I cannot thank Accuvision enough and would sincerely like to thank Kareena and Simon (Wetherby clinic). I would recommend them to anyone wanting to have the surgery done. They were absolutely fantastic. Thank you Miss Arif

I had my surgery last week and I strongly recommend this clinic. I have had consultations elsewhere but was sceptical as eyes are very valuable and I only wanted entrust my eyes to someone I had faith in. The consultation was well informed and I had all my questions answered in detail. I was not chased or called I was simply allowed to make up my mind. The staff were very friendly and made me feel at ease. On the day of surgery everything was checked again should any changes have occurred with my sight and then I was taken into theatre. The surgery itself lasted only 5 mins per eye and was not painful as all my eyes were numbed with drops and then I was told to look at a flashing light whilst the laser did its job. I was aware of what was happening but this not painful just uncomfortable. Once I got up I could see better straight away and was able to focus on something in the room and read the fine print. The feeling was just as if I had been poked in the eye and I wanted to sleep that is the only way I can describe it but by the evening I was fine. When I went back to have the bandage lenses removed I had better than 20/20 vision less than 48 hours after surgery previously I was about -2.25 in each eye. This is by far one of the best thing I have ever had done I wish I’d had it done sooner as I’ve been wearing glasses since the age of 11. Everyday I wake up and I feel my sight is improving and the halos I experienced the next few days have disappeared very pleased with the service I can’t thank the surgeons enough they were very friendly especially the one who held my hand as I’m a bit of a wimp.

I’ve worn glasses since I was thirteen. I went through various stages of wearing glasses and contact lenses. As I got older I tried varifocal contact lenses but I just couldn’t get on with them. As my eyesight continued to change it became really difficult to see what was on the screen and then to look down and read my handwritten notes. In my job I do a lot of note taking and in meetings I either had the choice of seeing the people in the meeting or seeing the notes clearly; I could not see both.

My best friend, who is the same age as me, had increasing trouble with her vision and did an enormous amount of research into laser eye surgery and finally chose AccuVision and I came with her for the consultation and for her procedure a couple of years ago. And, based on her experience, I was so impressed I then put myself forward even though I was terribly nervous about the intervention on my eyes. Her results were so good that I decided I would consider surgery with Accuvision too, I also have two other friends who had this surgery elsewhere, however the company they used had since gone out of business.

After the consultation I was quite adamant that I would not have it done and I remember speaking with AccuVision the next day saying "It’s just not for me, I’m too scared, I could not do it." At that time I just knew I could not get through that procedure with someone holding my eyes open. But as my friend said to me after, "You will have it done, you’re just not ready for it, you’re not yet annoyed enough with your eyesight ."

And sure enough a year later I was so frustrated with my glasses and my eyes were so tired from having to use both the reading glasses and distance glasses. My focus point was just gradually moving further away from me. It was at this point that I decided I just to to conquer my fear and have the surgery.

On the actual day of surgery I was not the slightest bit nervous until I got into the treatment room and it was then that I had an adrenaline surge, but the clinical team were lovely and talked me through the whole procedure. It was all over so quickly and then I was getting up.

Even though my vision was a bit hazy, as if I had been swimming without goggles, I could see clearly across the room, the light made my eyes a bit sensitive but I could see where I was going which, previously, was something I could not do without glasses.

I write this having had surgery just a week ago. I’ve been to work every day apart from the day after when I had to come in for my first check up. I’ve used the computer and written notes for my paperwork and have been able to see everything.

My vision has changed on a daily basis but I have been able to work each time. We have screens up on the wall for meetings and I’ve had to check myself to get the focus so I do feel that my eyes are working hard at the moment.

Having said that I wake up in the morning and it’s just astonishing. I can see my pictures on my bedroom wall and I can see everything in the garden, it’s amazing I can see everything.

I would definitely consider laser eye surgery again. As I get older my eyesight will change but I wouldn’t have any hesitation doing it again. I’ve been telling people all about it. People have come up to me and asked what has changed as I have not been wearing glasses and people who are wearing glasses are especially interested. They ask, "when did you have the surgery?" and I say "two days ago" and they cannot believe it!

So I would certainly recommend that people at least investigate laser eye surgery as one of the options, I know there are a number of options but this particular experience at AccuVision has been so easy.
