I decided to have laser surgery with Accuvision in November after becoming frustrated with my contact lenses getting in the way of my sports. My parents both had the operation with a different company in 2002 and have had no problems which definitely set my mind at ease. After lots of research I decided to go with Accuvision because of the feel I got when I went for a consultation. The place looked very professional and the staff  were extremely friendly and helpful.

I compete in Triathlon for the GB age group team and wearing my lenses while racing and training was becoming a really big hassle. A couple of the problems I encountered were difficulty in getting the lenses into my eyes for a 6am training session, and I developed very dry eyes late in the afternoon. I also had worries over losing my lenses in the swim stage of a race and getting sweat/sun cream in them which left me with blurred vision for a few hours! Not to mention the inconvenience of wearing glasses in general day-to-day life.

After my consultation I decided to have the surgery the following week. Everything went as planned and I felt no pain throughout the whole thing. It's over before you know it! It's now just over 6 weeks post surgery and my vision is excellent. I initially had dry eyes and a little ghosting around objects but this has fully disappeared as the eyes have healed, and I am really impressed with the results.

The change has had an excellent effect on my life and I no longer have to plan things around wearing glasses or contacts, and I have no worry with my vision during my sporting exploits.

I would definitely recommend Accuvision and would like to thank them for all of their hard work and help.

Well I now wonder why I did'nt have my eyes lasered years ago - I had tests done at 4 different providers in Birmingham and chose Accuvision at Solihull. I chose them above the other three because I did'nt feel pressured in bying the 'product'. The others seem top reply on an 'attractive' sales pitch whereas the people at Solihull were top class, honest and were able to give me plenty of time to discuss my eyes and the treatment they offered. Accuvision was not the cheapest or the most expensive. I felt very comfortable with them.

The surgery went without any problems - painless with some expected discomfort post op but not much to be wooried or concerned about. But I would rather have my eyes done than go for a scale and polish at the dentist - far less painful!.
The results are stunning - I play a lot of cricket - i can now even see the ball. Its a real treat to play sport without the need for glasses strapped to my head. The results are fantastic.

My after care has been top drawer - no waiting about - on time and they were able to give me lots of time for questions and a bit of gossip.

If you are thinking of getting your eyes done - do it now ,dont wait. look around at other providers but dont be sold on the short skirts or the sales pitch. Go to Accuvision at Solihull. Alan

I would definitely recommend Accuvision and would like to thank them for all of their hard work and help.

I'd worn glasses since the age of about five for things like reading, TV, schoolwork and then later driving. As soon as possible I moved on to contact lenses and was pretty happy with them at first. However, after a while the whole routine of having to clean them and take them out etc etc started to get on my nerves so I looked in having laser surgery.

I did a bit of research into the various companies around but was very impressed by the service and value for money I was offered at Accuvision. One of the main reasons I was keen to get my eyes lasered is for my rugby - all too frequently I would lose a contact lens on the pitch and be half blind for the rest of the game. I decided to go with Accuvision and after a being taken through the procedure step by step I agreed to have the surgery done.

On the day I was pretty nervous but was re-assured by the calm atmosphere at the clinic. After a few more routine checks I found myself underneath the laser machine, waiting to experience all the horror stories I'd heard - the smell of burning cornea, the pain, the discomfort etc etc. The procedure took I'd say about 7secs per eye and there was no smell, no pain, and no discomfort. The worst aspect of the whole things was having lots of drops put into my eyes.

As soon as the surgeon let me sit up I could see - it was amazing. I really found it quite an emotional experience to be able to see perfectly after so many years of glasses and contact lenses and blurred vision. I went home with a course of drops to take, came back the next day and then again a few months later for the last checkup to ensure everything is OK.

My surgeon says now if he hadn't done the surgery, looking at my eyes he wouldn't know I'd had it done and apparently I have better than 20:20 vision - I didn't even know such a thing was possible!!

The operation really is one of the best things I have ever done - I feel so happy not to have to rely on glasses or lenses and it's fantastic not to have to worry about my eyes on the rugby pitch. I couldn't recommend having the surgery done highly enough and the service and expertise I experienced at Accuvision was second to none.
