Comments:

I have been impressed from the first meeting I had with the Accuvision team. They are highly professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I appreciated that they could answer any questions I had and put my worries to rest.

The procedure was over so quickly and as the other testimonials have mentioned there was no pain. It was a strange feeling but not painful.

Within an hour I was ready to leave and go home. The next day my eyes were sensitive but I could see clearly!

Since my procedure a friend of mine has had it done here too. I am so pleased I went ahead with it, and so grateful I found this great team to support me through it. I was 100% sure and confident in them and their capabilities.

Thank you!

Comments: Originally I did a lot of research into Laser eye surgery. Accuvision was the last company on my list but by far the very best in every category in my opinion. They were re-assuring and informative on my first telephone call. I was completely looked after from the first point of call up until the last goodbye. Each member of staff plays a very important role. They are like little cogs in a wheel that all turn together creating a brilliant end result. They are not a big run corporate company but a small endearing team of experts. My experience was second to none. I had to attend the clinic on two separate occasions as we thought originally we could get away with only having surgery in one eye but my other eye was just not strong enough to compensate, so on the second occasion I was a little anxious. You never need worry. They have a hand holding service as well!! My results are outstanding and I would recommend this company to anyone out there who is thinking of taking the plunge. Their wonderful team will look after you every step of the way.

Treatment Type : Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment (AKA No-Touch PRK)

Review : I’m 26 & my prescription was -1.75 in both eyes. I had been wearing what I thought were amazing contact lenses for over 2 years – Air Optix Night & Day. Apparently it was fine to wear them & sleep in them for a MONTH continuously and then just change them with a new pair.. I thought they were great until about 2 years in, when I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night with terribly bad eye pain. From that moment on my eyes totally rejected any contact lenses and always felt very dry and irritated. My useless NHS opthamologist told me i had Blepharitis and could not wear lenses anymore. bleph usually stops u having eye surgery but when I went to eye surgery clinics they all said there was no sign of it and that it was probably just my epithelium had worn down & had no chance to recover. I was quite nervous to have laser surgery because my eyes did not feel healthy at all.

I originally booked in to have wavefront intralase at Optimax for £1850, this was the price I got only after about 12 months of letters when the deals kept getting better and better. At the last minute I discovered no-touch & found that Accuvision were the only ones that do it. When they quoted me £50 more I was instantly sold. People that take LASIK because it doesn’t hurt are really selling themselves short. I play rugby and Optimax never told me that there was a distinct possibility a blow to the eye could have dislodged the flap which stays weak for up to 7 years post-op. Accuvision said any person with active lifestyles should never get a flap, but they recommend trans-epi to everyone that is eligible.

My surgeon was Chad Rostron, nice guy and he did a great job. Only ever met him for 15 mins as I primarily dealt with optometrists. Fair enough if this makes my surgery cheaper!

So about the pain – surgery was completely painless, don’t be nervous about it because it is a breeze. 30 mins afterwards you will not be very comfortable at all, if at all possible I would advise getting home to a dark room within an hour. As i mentioned before, waking up with my contact lens problem was painful, this I’d describe as a discomfort.. a discomfort that takes a very long time to subside. I slept for 4 hours on the first night and the second day was much more manageable. I got a good 10 hours on the second night. By the 4th day I was comfortable doing anything and even drove to my follow up appt, although was still very light sensitive. You will be unable to look at computer or tv screens for 3-4 days even with the brightness turned down. So to sum up, the pain isn’t a big deal, it’s the boredom. Get an ipod with a few audiobooks on it to keep yourself occupied.

The results;
at my 4 day appointment my vision was 20:40, (driving standard)
at my 2 week appt I hit 20:20, and was able to read 2 letters from 20:15.

I am now at 4 1/2 weeks and I guess I’m at least 20:15 now, I am hoping, although unlikely, that I will get to 20:10 at some stage and really impress people.

They warned me that having to use reading glasses in my old age was almost certain after any laser eye surgery. Seeing as both my parents had perfect eye sight all their lives, and now require reading glasses I thought chances are I will too. Who knows what will be out there in 20 years anyway and at least I know I took the procedure that causes the very least damage to my eyes.

After finally coming to the end of my tether with my glasses provider, I decided to go for treatment over Christmas 09. My Dad had had laser eye surgery around 8 years ago with Accuvision, so they were an obvious choice. My consultation was clear and concise, and I was told that laser surgery may not entirely correct my vision, as I was a -8.00. I decided to go ahead, because even a very small prescription would be better than what I had currently.
My surgery was booked for mid Feb. I arrived early, and was promptly seen to. The actual procedure was around 10-15 mins, then I was up and out of the clinic before my actual appointment time.
First check up next day, they were happy enough to take the bandage contact lenses off, and by my week follow up, I was amazed at what I could see. I can now legally drive without and glasses, which is something we weren’t sure we were going to achieve.
It took about a month before i stopped reaching out every morning to put my glasses on, but its certainly the best money I’ve ever spent. Thank you to the whole staff, they were amazing, and made the experience as comfortable and informative as possible.

After wearing glasses and contact lenses for 25 years I thought it was time to get rid of them. I had enquired at a few places about laser eye surgery and then I came to Accuvision where Vikash looked after me. The procedure was painless which was what I was scared of the most. The laser used was a wavelight and a microkeratome was used to cut the flap. I am so pleased with the result I have gone from a prescription of -7.5 to 20:20 vision.
Thanks to everyone at Accuvision for giving me new eyes!! I would recommend Accuvison to anyone thinking about laser eye surgery…

After quite a few years of research into laser eye surgery I came across Accuvision. After reading other patients testimonials I decided that I was going to take the plunge and book a consultation for the Leeds Clinic. I met with Simon Falk at his practice in Leeds in September 2009 and was immediately put at ease. After a thorough examination of my eyes by Simon I was told that I was suitable for laser eye surgery and was offered the option of Lasik or Lasek surgery. I decided the best option for me was to go with the Lasik surgery. As the clinic in Leeds was due to open in October I decided that I would wait for a few months before going ahead with the surgery. I finally booked my surgery date for 16th February 2010 and arrived at the clinic at 11am for my surgery. To say that I was a little nervous was an understatement, but I was greeted by Vic and immediately put at ease. I met with Simon again and was given a final check before I went ahead with my surgery. The whole procedure lasted less than 5 minutes and I had both eyes treated at the same appointment. It was an intense feeling but no pain what so ever. When I went back the following day for them to check my eyes, it was the first time in 15 years that I could see without my glasses.
I have just been for my one month checkup this week and I now have better than 20/20 vision and am thrilled not to have to wear my glasses any longer, it has made such a difference!
I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Accuvision for their care and support, in particular Simon, who has put me totally at ease throughout all my visits. Thanks once again!!
Sarah

Clinic: London

Treatment: Wavefront Optimised (Aspheric) LASIK

Comments:
Having had my surgery just 48hrs ago, the quality & professionalism of Accuvision really cannot be underestimated.

My initial (free) consultation was in April, Accuvision unlike other companies do *not* have a sales team, their optometrists answer the phone and make bookings and conduct the examination which was incredibly thorough and they told me there and then what the cost was going to be.

Even though I decided to book there and then, they told me that there was no pressure and said I was more than welcome to go away and think about it overnight.

The laser eye surgery procedure whilst *uncomfortable* was basically painless and took less than 5 mins per eye and having arrived at 9am, I was back on the street without glasses by 10am. Whilst the improvement is instantaneous, it wasn’t until the follow up appointment at 9.30 the next day when they removed the ‘bandage contact lenses’ and had an eye test that I realised I had perfect 20/20 vision (all be it a tiny bit foggy which is slowly clearing away)

Like many people, the thought of having eye surgery is daunting, and the usual questions and concerns of ‘what if I go blind’ or ‘what if something happens’ were foremost in my mind, however, I understand that no one has ever gone blind through surgery and certainly not through Accuvision, and I believe that the only complications tend to be with those who already have abnormal problems with their eye’s above and beyond simply being long or short sighted.

Unlike other companies, Accuvision will treat up to -10 prescription for short sightedness and if you are over that they also have other options too.

Thousands of people have said it’s the best decision that they ever made and wished they’d done it sooner, and I for one whole heartedly agree with them!

Comments:
I had a high prescription, of -6.50 in both eyes, so wanted to do my research carefully. After being recommended by 2 friends, I did a consultation with Accuvision. They were far more impressive and knowledgeable than Optimax and they did not try and push the surgery, or try to offer a variety of extras and options, like other competitors. They use a slightly older technology, which is more reliant on surgeon skill, which I liked and appreciated.

The day of the surgery went perfectly well, they did another pre-check before the operation with the surgeon himself. The operation was completely painless, and it just felt like watching a multicoloured laser light show.

After the surgery, vision was of course hazy for the next day, then got better day by day. After a couple of weeks, I was seeing better than 20/20 EVERY day with no haziness at all. Night time vision takes a little longer to be 100% normal after having had such a high prescription, but this is normal. Now, almost 2 months on, my night vision is 90% ok, and is fully comfortable to drive and live a normal life.

I wish I had done this sooner. I was concerned about the safety and impact on my eyes, since I work on a trading floor with 4 screens daily. I didn’t need to be concerned at all, Accuvision are a superb choice! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you want to ask me anything.
