After many years of thinking about having my eyes lasered I decided to look into it fully, many an hour surfing the net looking at forums (Pistonheads being very informative).I decided to have a consultation at Accuvision in Solihull, mainly because I wanted an Eye Surgeon operating on my eyes & Chad Rostron was highly recommended.
I am 52 & over -7 in each eye, I thought maybe I was too old or too short-sighted.
I saw Nick for my consultation & he said I was ok for laser eye surgery,but it still took me 5 days to make my mind up. There was no pressure from them to have surgery, just a nice text message thanking me for having my consultation with them.
Anyway I had surgery on 25/8, the worrying about it was far worse than the actual event. I can honestly say I felt no pain at all, nor can I say it was even uncomfortable. Mr Rostron talked through everything that he was doing & someone even held my hand throughout the procedure.
As I sat up after it was done I could tell the time on the clock on the wall where as before surgery I couldn't even have seen the clock!!!!
I promptly burst into tears, I had been wearing glasses, then contact lenses since I was 9 years old & could not believe it was that instant.......I could see!!!!
At home I had a prickling sensation in my right eye & a little watering for 2-3 hours, no problems at all with my left.
I went back the next day to have the bandage contact lenses taken out & everything was much clearer.
All in all I cannot recommend Accuvision in Solihull highly enough, from Nick to the other optician whose name I didn't catch, to the guy who held my hand during the procedure & Mr Rostron who did the procedure........you all are miracle workers & thank-you so much.

I had my procedure in December 2009, and I am so pleased with my sight, it is so much clearer now than when I wore glasses/contact lenses.I went for my consultation on the Monday and the earliest available date was the Wednesday of that same week (my husband told me to go for it - the sooner I had the op, the sooner I would be able to see! and this was two weeks before Christmas). So I signed up there and then.
The whole team at Wetherby are wonderful and I was so at ease with everyone, the way the surgeons talk you through everything that is going on in the theatre is particularly reassuring. Simon is so helpful and easy to speak to in all the consultations and knowing that most of the employees have had the surgery makes you feel that they know what they are talking about.
I recommend Accuvision at Wetherby to everybody that I speak to (even if they don't wear glasses!).
If you are thinking of having laser surgery on your eyes - I will tell you to definitely have it done as you will not regret it. Not having to reach for your glasses on a morning is the best feeling in the world.
I now take it for granted that I can see and wearing glasses/contact lenses is a very distant memory.

From the first consultation to the continued aftercare, the experience has been amazing.
I would highly recommend Accuvision to anyone wanting to improve their eyesight.

Technology: 5/5Comments: I had LASIK eye surgery at the Accuvision Fulham clinic in June 2010. I had visited a couple of different clinics for consultations before deciding on Accuvision. I was impressed by the thorough and comprehensive consultation, the price was competitive and I felt it was a more personal service then some of the large chains. I was also reassured that they also performed more complicated and serious surgery so I knew that I was getting an experienced surgeon. I particularly appreciated that Accuvision did not hassle or chase me about having surgery done with them - unlike other persistent (i.e. rude) clinics.
My surgery was over with faster than I could have imagined. It was uncomfortable but the surgeon was wonderfully kind and the nurse even held my hand. My vision was instantly a million times better. Not having glasses is a huge relief and I am thankful every day for this miracle surgery. I now have 20 20 vision or better.
Accuvision after care was also amazing. Anything I needed or any questions that I had were no trouble - I would just call and my question would be answered, or eye drops would be in the post to me instantly. I recommend Accuvision whole heartedly. I am thrilled with the results and every staff member I came in contact with was both professional and kind.

Technology: 5/5Comments: Originally I did a lot of research into Laser eye surgery. Accuvision was the last company on my list but by far the very best in every category in my opinion. They were re-assuring and informative on my first telephone call. I was completely looked after from the first point of call up until the last goodbye. Each member of staff plays a very important role. They are like little cogs in a wheel that all turn together creating a brilliant end result. They are not a big run corporate company but a small endearing team of experts. My experience was second to none. I had to attend the clinic on two separate occasions as we thought originally we could get away with only having surgery in one eye but my other eye was just not strong enough to compensate, so on the second occasion I was a little anxious. You never need worry. They have a hand holding service as well!! My results are outstanding and I would recommend this company to anyone out there who is thinking of taking the plunge. Their wonderful team will look after you every step of the way.
