I had laser correction surgery and after advice from Accuvision, went for mono vision which has been absolutely brilliant. I no longer need any glasses apart from sunglasses to shade my eyes, if the sun ever shines! The surgery was carried out at the Solihull office very professionally. The initial advice to try mono vision was given by Nick Dash and he gave me contact lenses to test. The test was successful and I booked in for surgery.

I would highly recommend mono vision and certainly Accuvision in Solihull

I have found the experience a very professional and personal one so far. Levels of customer service have matched and exceeded my expectations. A week on I have no pain or discomfort from the initial treatment. Long vision is excellent but finding that i seem to be focusing too hard on the comp screen and TV, though I am sure this will ease over the next few weeks. IT'S AMAZING! I can now read the teletext without glasses after 20 years! Wish I had it done sooner.

After years of blurry distance vision, I decided to have my eyesight corrected. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I was scared on the day and even in the surgery but it is so quick and the staff were so friendly my nerves did reduce. I was amazed to find that on the journey home with my husband I could read car number plates clearly already (even though I was meant to keep my eyes closed!)
The next days check up showed my vision was already better than 20:20 and I am thrilled. Everything became clearer and I realised the details I have been missing over the last few years. To anyone considering having eye surgery, I would say go and have an assessment, you have nothing to lose. It might just be the best decision you ever make.

Had my treatment at the London clinic a week ago. I went for the Trans Epi all laser surface correction after the expert advice from staff.

The entire procedure was quick, efficient, painless and generally outstanding. Unlike LASIK it does take a while for your eyes to steady but a week on and they are now tip-top. One word of note, the pain for the first 24hrs is something to be aware of. It is different in all cases but that was a long night!! But as they say at the clinic, this procedure is about short term pain for long term gain as there is no corneal flap to dislodge.

The staff are great - friendly, helpful and cheerful.

Boy did I enjoy chucking my specs in the bin by the stairs (just like in the promo video!!).

After 30 yrs in glasses and the last 20 of those with contacts if you are thinking about this procedure then go for it.

I had my laser eye surgery on 13th December 2007 at the Solihull clinic.

I have worn glasses my whole life so it was a big thing to go through for me. Almost as if my glasses were my security blanket!

I have to say I was the most nervous I have ever been in my life. There was no need to be at all. The staff at the solihull clinic were so friendly and kind and did all that they could to put me at ease (I am a drama queen, so it was a tough job!)

The treatment I had was a customised wavefront lasik procedure as I had astigmatisms as well as being long sighted.

I was in the treatment room for about 15 minutes during which time everything was checked and double checked, then checked again before the procedure took place. The actual laser part of the procedure worked its magic in about 10 seconds.

I had my check up the next day, and everything is going well. The christmas tree lights can't go on at the moment as I am noticing a 'halo' effect around them, but this is getting better on a daily basis. I have been told that it could take up to one month for my eyes to settle down, but every hour I notice an improvement.

If you are considering getting your eyes done, I would 100%recomment it to anyone. I was so scared before the surgery, but now I know what I know, I would have it done again if I needed it. I have not suffered any pain whatsoever, just the feeling of grit in my eyes at first, which has since gone.

The team at Accuvision have been totally professional, caring, trusting and understanding and I would recommend them to anyone.

As for my security blanket glasses - I have given them away! I just need to get out of the habit of going to put my specs on first thing, but I am sure I will get over it!

I decided to have laser surgery with Accuvision in November after becoming frustrated with my contact lenses getting in the way of my sports. My parents both had the operation with a different company in 2002 and have had no problems which definately set my mind at ease. After lots of research i decided to go with Accuvision because of the feel i got when i went for a consultation. The place looked very professional and the staff were extrememly friendly and helpfull.

I compete in Triathlon for the GB age group team and wearing my lenses while racing and training was becoming a really big hassle. A couple of the problems i encountered were difficulty in getting the lenses into my eyes for a 6am trianing session, and i developed very dry eyes late in the afternoon. I also had worries over losing my lenses in the swim stage of a race and getting sweat/sun cream in them which laft me with blurred vision for a few hours! Not to mention the inconvienience of wearing glasses in gereral day-to-day life.

After my consultation i decided to have the surgery the following week. Everything went as planned and i felt no pain throughout the whole thing. It's over before you know it! It's now just over 6 weeks post surgery and my vision is excellent. I initially had dry eyes and a little ghosting around objects but this has fully dissapeared as the eyes have healed, and i am really impressed with the results.

The change has had an excellent effect on my life and i no longer have to plan things around wearing glasses or contacts, and i have no worry with my vision during my sporting exploits.

I would definately reccommend Accuvision and would like to thank them for all of their hard work and help.

Can't express enough how happy I am. I never appreciated how precious sight is until I had it fully restored by Accuvision. My sight was a bit complex with a stigma and long vision but I now have almost 20/20 vision. The first day after the operation I felt like I had the sight of an eagle and realised that I had not seen properly for years through glasses. An absolute miracle and the best money I've ever spent. Highly recommend the Kings Road surgery, absolutely brilliant and a fantastic after service. My life feels like it's started over again, can't recommend this surgery enough.

Mid 2006, after reading some articles, I decided that finally the time had come to get rid of my glasses ( -8/-6.5, -3/3.5 cyl) and go for laser surgery. After some research on the web I choose Accuvision in London, basically because of the very positive testimonials. The intake confirmed they were indeed thorough, professional and very pleasant. Although Joan was the first woman to call me thick, she fortunately just referred to my corneas ! So good news. And she made me reconsider my decision not to have a reading correction in one eye, for which I am still very grateful.

In July I had the operation. It went faster then expected and not painful at all. Unfortunately my distance eye did not correct 100% and my eyes were dry and sensitive for a few months. But checkups were always courteous and I felt I was very well taken care of and well informed and advised. For a short time in October I nearly lost hope as my reading eye was trying to help me see in the distance and I had to wear reading glasses again. However, when it turned out my distance eye had got stuck at +2, I could correct for distance with off-the-shelve reading glasses with one glass removed. And that improved my reading again. In December Accuvision advised that now my eyes seemed stable enough to come back early 2007 for a check up with the possibility of a correction to the distance eye the same day.

This went very well and in September I had my last check and walked out with 20/20 distance vision and perfect reading of the smallest print without glasses. I can 100% recommend Accuvision, especially if you need a strong correction. They do what they say in the intake: if they consider your eyes suitable for Laser treatment their quote will fix your eyes. I never lost confidence in their professionalism and dedication to get it right. Full marks to Darius and his team. Even if things did not go as smoothly as I hoped I would not hesitate to do the treatment again, and only with them. The result is well, well worth it !

We left any comments until our final check up so as to give the full picture. Both my wife and I had treatment last May. My wife had monovision correction (one eye for reading and one for distance) and I had my acute astigmatism corrected. Cost for both of us £3400, half the price of other quotes we had. I never believed that I would ever rid myself of glasses. We must give the staff at Accuvision 200% for their care, professionalism and total customer service. Everything was 1st class and truly exceeded our expectations. If you are thinking of having laser surgery don't look elsewhere.

I had my surgery a week ago today and had my second post op appointment this morning. I have found Accuvision to be excellent in every way. At my consultation they were thorough, professional, positive and at no point tried to pressure me into making my mind up. I left my consultation feeling completely confident in Accuvision, so I went ahead and booked the surgery. I didn't even bother with other consultations as I trusted them completely. I was SO nervous at my surgery and my head wouldn't stop shaking throughout the procedure. However I had no reason to be so anxious. It was completely painless, just a little weird. But it is over so quickly, that you don't really have time to think about what's happening. My surgeon, Chad Rostron, was brilliant - reassuring, professional and I had complete faith in him. The nurse and second surgeon in the room were also fantatsic. After the surgery, I had to sit in the reception for 15 mins with my eyes closed, but when those 15 mins were up and I opened my eyes - I could see! 20 mins earlier I hadn't be able to read the writing on the TV, but now I could! I can't tell you what an incredible feeling it was. My eyes didn't hurt afterwards, they just felt like I had a bit of grit in them. By the next morning when I went back for my follow up appointment, I felt great. Now a week later, I have 20-20 vision. My distance sight is excellent but reading up close is very slightly wooly. Also my night vision is not quite as it should be but both these things will correct themselves as the swelling goes down in my eyes. I am so pleased with the results, it's like a modern day miracle and I forget that I needed glasses now. Accuvision were brilliant - they are welcoming, professional and trustworthy and I wouldn't hesitate in encouraging anyone to have their surgery with them. In fact, I have already recommended my dad and 2 friends!

After initially being rejected for surgery I was able to take advantage of a relatively new procedure suitable for my eyes known as Topography guided Trans epithelial lasik with cross linking. This strengthens the cornea as well as improving sight. It is a procedure which lasts about half an hour and is quite uncomfortable. The following week requires a lot of rest and some painkilling relief. Vision improves slowly over a period of 6-8 weeks. My vision has improved dramatically and I only need to wear reading glasses to a strength of 1-1.5.Most of the time I don't need to wear glasses at all. I am being regularly monitored and have nothing but praise for the team at Accuvision who have done an outstanding job.

I had both my eyes lasered about 6 years ago with Accuvision. My prescription was -6.5 for both eyes. The service I received at Accuvision was incomparable. I had a thorough eye examination and the procedure was thoroughly explained to me. There was no hard sell at all, in fact they even encouraged me to go away and think about the operation before making a decision. On the day I was made to feel very special by all involved in my procedure especially as I was very scared, but the procedure was very quick and they talked to me all the way through the operation so I was aware of exactly what was going on. I had to go back the following day, then 1 week later then 1 month and then 6 months. Every time I returned I was greeted by name and seen by the same people. My Mum, who is long sighted, and had accompanied me throughout my procedure had her eyes lastered 2 years later, and when I went with her they recognised me! Since then my sister-in-law, step dad and my husband have had their eyes done at Accuvision. I can't recommend them highly enough. My Husband had his eyes done this week - a total success - he wishes now he had had his done a few years ago. The price I paid has come down considerably and my husband paid £1250 per eye. If you want a company that is interested in you and not just their bottom line - go to Accuvision.

This is the morning after my Wavefront Lasix surgery. I have just been for my check up and informed that I have 20/20 vision. I had been dependant on glasses/contacts for myopia. Amazing less than 24 hours after surgery! I am blown away. No pain, do discomfort, friendly and professional staff.

SUPERB!!! 6 years following my LASIK surgery (with a 'blade') at Accuvision in Fulham. My vision is still fab. Have put several friends in touch with Accuvision and they to are equally impressed with their results. It looks as though they (Accuvision) offer a whole lot more than just Lasik these days too.

After years of deliberating whether to have laser eye surgery I decided enough was enough and took the plunge. I chose Accuvision in Fulham as I had only positive feedback from previous patients and I investigated the state of the art equipment used there. I was not disappointed. I was greeted upon my arrival in a very friendly manner and was seen by a professional optometrist who examined my eyes thoroughly while explaining everything in great detail making sure I understood fully the treatment I was to have - in fact I only had to have one eye operated on. On surgery day again I was treated in the most professional, hospitable way and informed of everything that was happening. After a few minutes I was out of surgery and able to see without glasses, I was amazed, quite emotional and very, very grateful to all the staff at Accuvision for their professionalism, care and the return of my sight. My only regret is that I waited so long Sharon Francis.

After wearing glasses for 22 years I finally decided to make a run for freedom. And freedom I got! I've 20/15 on each eye and bordering on 20/10 with both!

The first few days after the op I had halo's and everything was a bit 'milky' but after a week it was all fine and now after a month I just have to remember to not push my glasses up all the time...

I can absolutely recommend Lasik and specially AccuVision to anyone and I thank them for my newfound freedom.

After years of wanting to be free of glasses, and hours of scrutinizing endless pieces of information on eye surgery, I finally took the plunge, and booked a consultation at the Solihull clinic of Accuvision...
The consultation on Friday 21 September went well, the tests were extensive, and I felt at ease throughout. In the end I was told I was a perfect candidate for Wavefront Lasik eye surgery, and decided it was now or never....
The next available surgery day at Solihull was the following Tuesday, so I paid my deposit to secure a surgery time on that day.
On the day, my husband and I travelled the two hours from our home in West Yorkshire. I sat in the waiting room watching others come out of surgery, and trying to tell what they were thinking... no-one seemed uncomfortable, which put my mind at rest a little.
Then I was called in, and panicked.. 'am I doing the right thing?', I've had glasses and contacts for over 20 years, so 'why now??', 'what if it hurts?', 'what if it goes wrong?'..I tried to remain cool, calm and collected, but in truth, I was terrified....
The procedure was explained throughout its happening (except it is not just the green light you have to look at that disappears, everything actually goes black for a short time).. I personally, did not like the moment when I was told I would feel a slight pressure, because I knew this would be when they cut the flap in the cornea. When the eye was being lasered there was a 'burning' smell which lasted a few seconds (though I was told the laser actually freezes rather than burns). When I sat back in the waiting room (after about 5-8 mins), I said to my husband 'I can't believe I have just done that', to which he replied 'neither can I!'..He knows how squeamish I am. In truth, I have to say, I felt absolutely no pain or discomfort whatsoever..Although I did expect to be able to see clearly straight away, I could not, everything was blur, but this is common for most. I was told come the morning, I would see clearer.
Unfortunately for me, my eyes were very dry (even though I was putting the drops in up to going to bed), when I awoke the next day my right eye did not feel right, when I removed the eye guard, my vision in that eye was actually worse than the day before, my pupil was tiny and not reacting to light. When we returned to the clinic, I was informed the flap had moved slightly, and I had water retention under it.. It appeared the protective lens had suffocated my eye. Though I was assured there was no need to worry, the eye was starting to repair itself, and the water should be absorbed. I was asked to come back on the next surgery day, just in case.....
When I attended my next appointment, I was checked by four people, and the conclusion was I would not need another operation.. Over that week, the blurriness had started to subside, and the cornea was back to full thickness, my sight getting better day by day. I was told my eye sight was better than 20/20 IN BOTH EYES, WOW.
Over three weeks on, I am still improving, though still a little hazy in my right eye (I have to blink a few times for clearer vision), I am hopeful things will be normal soon.
I don't want to put any one off at all, I just wanted to share my experience, as it was not the same for me as it was for the majority of people on this site.... I would not deter anyone who has been thinking about laser eye surgery. If you are, I would encourage you to go for it!! I am a wimp, and considering what I have been through, I am not sorry in the least that I had this surgery as it means freedom from glasses and contacts. I felt safe in the hands of Accuvision, and would recommend them as being amongst the best, Thanks for caring guys..

Before I begin, I would like to thank the staff at Accuvision for their wonderful service, in my opinion they are second to none.

Right... For those of you reading these reviews trying to decide who to pick then I can definitely vouch for Accuvision. They price their treatment accordingly and fairly whilst providing quality treatment.

I am based in the North so I originally went to Leeds to see Simon Falk for my consultation. Simon was exceptionally clear and concise and answered all of my questions without any worries. I must say, he gave me the best eye checkup I have ever had (and this was all FREE!!!). I was very happy at this stage to sign up.

I had my treatment at the Fulham clinic in London (which was perfectly placed 5 minutes away from the Parson's Green Tube station) and I was very impressed with the overall presentation of the clinic. The staff were exceptionally friendly and greeted me very warmly. The optometrists were very thorough with their evaluation of me (even though I had already paid my deposit) and gave me a very clear idea of what to expect.

I was exceptionally nervous when it came to the crunch, but it was totally painless and ended before I had time to get too worried (thank you Darius!). I left the clinic feeling very confident I had made the right choice.

Almost immediately I could see a major improvement with my vision (with sneaked peeks at the TV in the lounge of the clinic) and also in the Taxi journey back to the hotel.

Unfortunately for me, I had a slight delay in my recovery which was later found to be a reaction to the steroids. I was very nervous about complications and they suggested I went to the clinic the same day to confirm everything was fine - I had quite a journey to make and it was after their opening hours by the time I arrived - but the surgeon (Darius) waited for me as did all of the Optometrists. Darius spotted the problem immediately without fuss and put me at ease. The Staff were very thorough again, double checking everything (including eye pressure 2 different ways just to be certain). I knew I was in very good hands.

Three days later both of my eyes were recovered. My right eye, which had already been very good, was exceptional - much better than I had hoped for. My left eye not as good but still great. Two weeks later I am still seeing improvements and everything looks so much nicer. Colours are more vivid, distant objects appear more crisp and everything looks great. Everything seems much more upbeat and real. I was amazed at how the colours jumped out at me (and I still am). I guess this is what they mean by improved acuity.

I would not hesitate to recommend Accuvision - especially those worried about the aftercare - which in my case has been brilliant!!

This was the best money I have ever spent. If you are looking for great people, unbelievable amounts of support and 2020 vision this is the place, Accuvision, I would recommend. The optometrist was lovely and very helpful with the questions that I had, he also gave me a realistic view on things and I felt that I was being given good, honest advice. The opp was approx 2 mins per eye and after that my vision has improved dramatically. I had near perfect vision with in a couple of hours. I hope this helps and good luck with the surgery if you choose to have.

Review by Paul - Posted on 04/10/2007 - Rating: 4.5/5
After reviewing numerous websites and a number of clinics, I chose Accusvision predominantly based on friends recommendations and cost.

The initial consultation was really helpful in explaining the options and risks (its easy to find this info on the web, so nothing should surprise you during the consultation). Due to the fact that I play rugby, epi-lasik was recommended, on healing its a more stable option for someone who is likely to get the odd finger or elbow in their eye! I had been keen on lasik due to the quicker healing time + less pain, but met a patient in a similar position to me some 4 weeks after his procedure, he was really positive and this convinvced me to go for epi-lasik, despite the longer and more difficult intial healing period.

I found the procedure a pretty intense 10 minutes, including a few seconds of blindness, a few seconds of 'kalidescope' vision, and a few more with the smell of burning. With sore and sensitive eyes I was glad I'd taken someone with me, the journey home on the tube would have been interesting otherwise. That night was very painful, antibiotic drops (that you have to take) and painkillers helped, plus something to induce sleep. The following day was much better, you can start to see well but eyes are very sensitive so sunglasses are a must, I'd recommend sleeping / resting for as long as possible. A couple more days and things slowly get better, again, dont over do it, its not worth pushing it.

My vision did vary in the first few weeks, this seemed to be down to tiredness and differences in healing - all perfectly normal. After a month both eyes really settled down and now three months on and I take it for granted.

Things to be aware of at Accusivion, you will only see your surgeon during the procedure, the remainder of the time you are dealt with by other members of the team. This is really not a problem as these guys are very friendly and helpful, but if you're after contact with your surgeon from start to finish you need to go elsewhere, and pay a higher price for it.

For me, I was happy with the service and delighted with the results - my vision is now 20/20 (better in my left eye) and its great not worrying about glasses or lenses. I'd do it again tomorrow without hesitation, a big thanks to all at Accuvision.

After 30 years of wearing contact lenses, with a prescription of -8 in one eye and -7 in the other, I can't believe that every morning when I wake up I can now see perfectly clearly without having to reach for those hideously thick glasses! I did my research for a clinic on the internet and decided on Accuvision at Solihull in Birmingham. I'd have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them - the professional care, reassurence and friendliness of all the team was outstanding. I had monovision (my dominant eye treated to full power and the other eye under-powered), so, no need for reading glasses. It's five weeks since I had my surgery and at my check-up this week was told I've now got 20/20 vision - don't think I've ever had that!!

I went to Accuvision after a friend of mine and his father had the procedure. They both had pretty poor eye sight prior to the operation, and have been very vocal about how well everything went and how well looked after they were.

My own prescription pre-op was -4.5 left eye and -2.5 in the right, so the stigmatism was quite bad. The consultation was very detailed and professional. In fact, they actually found a fault with my spectacles that no one else had picked up. I had the procedure on a Friday morning and it was a very efficient, professional and friendly service.

There was no discomfort post-op and my eyesight was back to the pre-op corrected level by the evening. 5 days later and I can read the 20-20 line on an eye chart, the incision has healed and there’s no discernable defect in either eye. I am extremely impressed with the people, process and results and would highly recommend that you at least have a consultation with Accuvision.

So much has been said, all excellent about Accuvision, that I cannot add more that will enhance the supberb people that will care for anyone considering having laser eye surgery.

Having had the surgery 5 weeks ago,I can only say that to have plucked up the "not required" courage to have my eyes treated (and I am no spring chicken!) its simply marvelous to experience the same if not better sight than I had some 25 years ago.

So, to anyone thinking of having it done, I would say don't hesitate. Have a free assessment, meet the great staff and feel reassured. There is no better company than Accuvision to look after your eyes.

My grateful thanks to Chad Rostron my surgeon that day and the team at Fulham for their care and after care.

I've been thinking about having laser treatment for around 2 years. After visiting 2 other well known clinics, I found Accuvision in Solihull Birmingham to be the right one for me. It was the cheapest and they also made me feel valued rather than just a number or statistic.I felt more comfortable after the intial consultaion and confident they would look after me.I was nervous before I had the laser treatment, but the surgeons and the staff looked after me and I can't fault the service. The procedure literally was over in 10 minutes and was painless. My perscription before surgery was -3.50 in both eyes and now it is virtually perfect. I received the treatment on a Thursday and was driving again by Saturday. I strongly recommend if you are considering laser eye treatment, visit Accuvision for a consultation. The team will look after you. Thank you Accuvision, I can now see my family without looking through glasses.

A year ago at the age of 63 I opted to have laser treatment to both eyes on the same day at Parsons Green surgery. Previously having worn Bi-focals I decided I wanted life without glasses. Other places I had tried refused because they said the eyes were too bad. The day I arrived the staff were marvelous and very re-assuring. The surgery lasted a few minutes and was completely pain free. The results were completely amazing when minutes after I could read again and my mid and long sight was good. After care: The slightest problem or worry you have is dealt with briskly and efficiently with a quick phone call. Now one year on and having just received my final checkup which was perfect, I would recommend the excellent services of Accuvision to anyone considering eye surgery.

I have always wanted to apply for the Fire Service and now after laser treatment with Accuvision I can now fulfil my ambition. I went to Accuvision in Solihull after being recommended by my optician with -2.75 and -2.50 vision, Nick was great he did some tests and told me that I have a great chance of having perfect vision. I knew I wanted to have the treatment from day 1, they explained the consequencies to me but that wasnt going to stop me! The operation lasted all of 5mins, slight discomfort but absolutely no pain. Then I had my sight back after 12years! The after care has been great and Accuvision have sent me last some champayne glasses! I am 26years old and now have 15/20 vision better than average which is 130% vision!!! well happy and the money I will save now on not having to pay for contacts, glasses and perscription sunglasses. so if you are thinking about it book an appointment!

I had surgery at Parsons Green in London. The service was quick, efficient, utterly painless and in my view excellent value for money. I wish I had it done years ago.

I read in my work a lot, and use computer screens regularly. It is unbelievable what a difference this has made to my life. I have now even forgotten that I wore glasses.

My main worry was the thought of someone touching my eyes. Because of the anaesthetic you do not even feel that. You are reassured throughout and the actual surgery takes seconds per eye. As soon as I came out the room (a few minutes after the surgery) I could read a TV screen graphics several feet away. It was more like witchcraft than surgery!!

Although for many the cost seems a bit high, I was spending about £350 at least a year on glasses and prescription sunglasses. But the personal benefit is priceless. I have already recommended to a number of people to go and get it done at accuvision. Their staff were wonderful. While I was in the surgery, a chap came in and had his initial examination. They offered to do his eyes there and then as it was a surgery day and they had a space. What a service! Imagine going in to have an exam and coming out without specs? If you are thinking about it, stop thinking and do it. You will never regret it. Thanks, Accuvision.

Fulham Branch

I always dreamt of waking up in the morning and being able to see without the aid of glasses. After wearing glasses (and contacts) for over 22 years, a chat with my Brother and Sister in law persuaded me to have the consultation. Last Friday (7th Sept), I finally plucked up the courage to have the surgery. I was quite nervous but I needn't have been as the staff throughout were professional. They relaxed me by talking to me throughout the short procedure (the actual surgery taking approximately 5 mins an eye). It was painless and after it was done I wondered why I had screwed myself up so much. The fear of the unknown I guess. Revisiting the waiting room after surgery was surreal as the need for glasses no longer existed!

I am now 2 days on from surgery and I am so pleased with the outcome. I would throughly recommend the procedure to anyone and thank Accuvision for changing my life.

Today (13th Sept, I have just been for my week check up and have been told that my vision is 20/20 and could get better. A dream come true and all down to Accuvision.

I had lasik in June 2002 and I have just had an eye check up on 28th August 2007, 5 years later and I have 20/20 vision in both eyes which is wonderful. I was told after my surgery my eyes were one line better than 20/20 but that I need not worry as that is just a trace and the eyes will not flucuate any lower but every few years will go back to a line better than 20/20 and then may go back to 20/20 again but not any lower which is great so whatever happens I know I will have 20/20 vision and that the vision won't get worse. Before surgery I had very poor vision, approx -6 and -7 and even with my glasses I never had 20/20 vision, I was one line below 20/20 before the op with my glasses or contact lenses. My eyes have never felt better, I have no side effects, and colours are still so much brighter and everything so much clearer, a whole new world. Eyes are priceless and to this day I am so happy I trusted Accusion with my eyes, it is truly the best place. It is fantastic to be able to wake up and see and I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity and thank the surgeon Mr Jacobs and the whole Team. Darius saw me when I came for a check up and recognised me after all those years, remembering all my questions and nerves, even though I trusted Accusion I couldn't help feeling nervous but have never regretted trusting Accusion with my eyes. Anyone who is thinking of eye surgery please don't even consider having it done anywhere else other than Accusion. Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.

I researched Lasik Surgery thoroughly and have been patiently waiting for the right service to suit me, after wearing contact lenses for more than 30 years. Accuvision Solihull arranged the suitablility tests on the morning of 26.07.07 and 1 had the surgery an hour later, by my request, because I find the waiting is the worst.

The results are brilliant. My dominant eye is now better than 20/20, before it was -4. My left eye has not been fully corrected - this way I have perfect vision close up! I very quickly got use to the separate strengths of vision in my eyes and it means I don't have to wear reading glasses. Also I am lucky because I had dry eyes before surgery - I know its only been 5 weeks, but I have great vision and no dry eyes!

Solihull has specific days when surgery is carried out, so several clients are in the waiting room together. I found it reassuring to see others return from surgery (less than 5 minutes) and wait until they were recalled for their final check before returning home. There were clients there who had had surgery the day before, the week before and the month before. You could guess which was which by the width of their smiles!

YES, our eyes are so sensitive any thought of something touching them, never mind a laser, is a bit frightening! You have to have total trust in the clinic you choose.

My Accuvision surgeon was great, precise and positive. He talked me through the whole 5 minutes I was with him. It didn't hurt at all - Course I was frightened, there was this red light and a funny smell and 10 seconds of slight pressure! But you know, when he said "That's great, now we'll do the other eye." I felt, 'That was a piece of cake" I can do this!

I was thanked for trusting the surgeon with my eyes.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending these guys to any of my clients, friends or family. They are professional in their care, ABILITY and concern of all their clients. Don't forget, of course the surgery is of vital importance, but it goes hand in hand with the honesty of what can and cannot be achieved, what the consequences are likely to be and the aftercare programme.

In time, and I hope its a long time - my eyes will naturally need reading glasses and unfortunately surgery cannot correct this. When this happens I won't hesitate to return to Accuvision to fully correct my left eye so that I will have 20/20 long sight. I hope all the Solihull staff will still be there then... you can't improve on perfection.

I had intially investigated having laser eye surgery at another clinic, but felt pressured into going for the most expensive option so decided to wait for a time. I read testimonials for Accuvision and decided that it would be my New Year's Resolution to get my eyes sorted and made an appointment for a consulation.

I was impressed by the busy atmosphere of the clinic-there were certainly satisfied customers there. The consultation was very thorough and I was not pressured to make a decision, nor did they try to sell me the most expensive option.

I went ahead with the surgery in January 2007. I had been very apprehensive before the procedure as I have always had extremely sensitive eyes and hated anyone going near them. I was put at ease and the procedure, though stressful, was not painful. I was also relieved that I was not in any pain afterwards. My eyes were slightly watery and hazy, but it certainly didn't feel as if there was something in them, as I had often been told it would.

The day after the procedure, my vision was perfect and continued to improve over the following months. Occasionally, upon waking up in the morning, I'd have to blink more times than usual in order to focus, but this soon stopped happening.

I've gone from being -2.50 and -2.25 to having 20:20 vision. It's transformed my life and my confidence and I would recommend Accuvision to anyone considering laser eye surgery.

I had laser eye surgery at the Fulham clinic three days ago and it was so simple, painless and effective. The surgery itself took only a couple of minutes per eye and I was in and out virtually before I knew it. The whole surgery team was excellent and very professional. The surgeon explained exactly what was happening at each stage which made it very easy. The laser smells quite strong but that helps you to know when it is active and then finished - it was only on for about ten seconds per eye.
Once treated I sat in the waiting room with my eyes closed as instructed for about 30 minutes to let the eyes settle. They then checked over my eyes again and sent me on my way. In total I was at the clinic for about an hour and a half.
The only side effect was from the anaesthetic wearing off which made my eyes water for a couple of hours post surgery, which was uncomfortable but not painful. The next day I could see very well when I went to have the bandage contact lenses removed. 24 - 36 hours after the surgery my sight was excellent and has continued to fine tune since. I cannot recommend this procedure highly enough. Thank you to the team at Accuvision in Fulham.

Had surgery 3 months ago and the result is fantastic. Very happy with initial consultation and aftercare appts but on the day of actual surgery it was really crowded and they were running an hour late. This wasn't great for the nerves. They were apologetic and apparently it was cause it was half term and the previous surgery day hadn't happened because it was a bank holiday so they had pushed everyone into one day. It did make it feel like you were on a production line though, quite unlike experiences before and since at that clinic. The only other complaint is that I think my surgery was performed by someone other than Mr Halliday, although he was overseeing it. But as the results were so good I can't really complain too much. Also, in the literature they tell you your eyes might feel scratchy and like something's in them and that is normal. But if you can feel something there do tell them, because I had mine re-checked and there was a tiny piece of debris under the flap. I was glad I hadn't been all English and not said anything cause that could have affected my recovery and result. But really, I'm amazed every day with the results and this summer I've been swimming and camping and the difference this has made is completely worth it.

I had the surgery 4 days ago and what a transformation!!. I have worn glassess and contact lenses for the last 30 years and it is such a great feeling to wake up and to be able to see everyting clearly without having to search for your glasses.

The whole process with the Solihull clinic was excellent - staff were great and explained everyting and were very honest. In fact I did a great deal of research and had consultations at the other main 3 clinics and apart from Accuvision no one recommended monovision, the others dismissed it as not suitable. The consultant at Solihull explained monovision and even demonstrated it to me - Iam glad I took his advice as currently I do not need to wear glassess at all, even reading glassess.

So thanks to all the staff at Solihull for an excellent job and to date the aftercare.

I had my eyes corrected 16 months ago and have to say still pleased with the results. When I had the scans done before treatment Joan was concerned about the narrowing behind my eyes, so I was taken into see Mr Haliday and he explained that it could mean that I would develope gluecoma later on. Since there was no history of this in my family I was not worried. Since then my sister has been told she has closed angle gluecoma and because it was not picked up staight away she has had to have her lense replaced in one eye. I went for a check up with joan this week and I told her about my sister. Joan done lots of tests on me and has now referred me to the hospital. I am so glad I found accuvission because at least now I will be well looked after......Thanks

Like everyone, my eyes are incredibly important to me. I've worn glasses since I was 12 and contacts since 16 and I'm now 23. I'd read a lot about laser eye surgery and after reading a few more reports I decided to go ahead.

I was lucky enough to know an Eye Surgeon in London who although doesn't do Lasik, could recommend me to look at Accuvision in Fulham.

First contact was just a phonecall and the lady was very helpful. I was surprised at her knowledge and she was comfortably able to answer all my questions. I assumed I'd get through to a receptionist who just answered the phone, but this was great and very reassuring.

The consultation was completely free and it never felt like a sales pitch. It was basically an hour long eye exam, similar to what I've had every 6months for years but in more depth.

I liked how I could choose to have Dr Rostron as my surgeon. He has a fabulous reputation so I felt comfortable using him. A lot of other clinics just allocate you a surgeon on the day of surgery.

They really put my mind at rest so I booked surgery.

The big day came very quickly and it was the biggest anti-climax ever! :) When you think about having your eyes tampered with by a laser, you expect it to be a big event. In the end it was just a case of lying back and looking at some hippy lights for a minute or so.

You have to keep your eyes shut as much as possible for the first 30mins, but I had a sneaky look at the TV and I was able to read the News24 news items within 15mins of the operation.

I was -2.50 and -3.25 by the way.

Now 20/15 (one line better than 20/20) and improving all the time.

Aftercare has been excellent. I had a 24hour checkup the next day and everything looked good. Felt fine to drive the day after.

1 week checkup lasted about 20minutes and I didn't feel rushed at all. Checked my eyes over again, made sure everything was to order, did another eye test. Very happy to hear my eyes were in great health.

It's the best thing I've ever bought. You can't put into words how much easier life is without glasses and contacts. People have commented that my eyes look brighter than before.

Off on holiday in a week and looking forward to not having to put contacts in before heading to the beach with sunglasses on.

Summary:

Laser eye surgery is excellent. The technology has been perfected and its a very safe operation. Much safer in fact than using contacts, which have a surprisingly high chance of infection.

Accuvision are SUPERB. Their motto is "Because your eyes are for life". Sure, you could save a couple of hundred pounds by going to a high street surgeon, but the assurance that I was being treated by the best surgeons and technology in the country if not world, is worth the extra.

Happy to answer questions via email.

Very thorough, professional, informative & friendly at the Solihull clinic during & after my eyes were lasered. I had my eyes done a month ago (-5.5 in eah eye) & now have 20/20 vision. I still go to look for my glasses though when I get up in the night or get out the shower, takes a couple of minutes to acknowledge that I can see without them. Also went to optical express in Birmingham & was very glad I didn't go with them. When I asked any technical questions they didn't seem to know the answers. They even told me that you don't have eye drops to numb the eyes before they do the laser surgery. They also wanted to charge £2600 for it to. Felt more like a cattle market! Very happy with accuvision's service & the result.

From start to finish the customer experience I've had with Accuvision has been FIVE STAR! -3 in both eyes to better than 20:20 is truly life changing.

While it comes down to motivational reasons to go ahead with the surgery, to have gone through the process with a professional and caring team has made this all the more enjoyable a process.

Too many highlights to mention, but being talked through the prodecure by the surgeon during the producure is both engaging and all the more relaxing / distracting. The procedure itself is 4 mins per eye, painless and only some mild discomfort. And the level of aftercare, check ups, wearing a protective lens for 24 hours, and overall advice is clear and direct.

I would heartily recommend this clinic to anyone who has decided to go ahead with Lasik surgery!

Many of the reviews for Accuvision are very long. I will just suffice by saying that you would not trust the safety of your eyes to just anybody and in Chad Rostron I do not believe there are many specialists into whose hands their safety could be better put. I had my surgery in London in early June 2007, the care I got was top class, everything since in terms of recovery has followed the pattern they said it would and I could not be more pleased. In addition, the clinic offers numerous free aftercare consultations as part of the total package. A sincere thank you to Mr Rostron and the team for freeing me after a lifetime saddled with glasses and lenses. I would not hesitate to recommend you.

After consulting with Optical Express in Southampton and not caring very much for their attitude or service I was to say the least, very put off laser surgery. My friend convinced me to try Accuvision and reluctantly I went along. A week later I had booked for surgery. Accuvision have extremely helpful, caring staff who immediately put your mind at ease. No pressure at all. With their advanced technology and relaxed atmosphere my mind was made up. Surgery was PAINLESS as they had told me. I left about an hour later and have never looked back since. The next day I returned for my post-op check and to have the bandage lens removed which was once again PAINLESS. My vision 24 hours later was 20/20 which is incredible. I can honestly say I am overjoyed with my results and I cannot thank the staff enough at Accuvision. LOOK NO FURTHER. GO WITH THE PROFESSIONALS!!

I cannot praise the clinic, the staff and the results enough. I attended at the clinic on my own but the staff really looked after me. The operation only took about three minutes per eye and was completely painless (and no pain or side effects afterwards) I could see straight away after the operation. I went back the next day and my vision was great. It is now 2 weeks later and I still can't believe how good my sight now is. They tested my eyes a couple of days ago and my sight is as good now as previously when I wore my glasses. And may I say it is marvellous to not have to wear glasses or mess around with contact lenses anymore. I am telling all my friends to come to the clinic. Many of the staff there have had the operation themselves which is a good sign and the waiting room has a shelf full of thank you cards. I would not hesitate to recommend the clinic.

After years of considering it and trying to gathering up the courage to do it I finally went for it on 19t March 07. I was -2.25 in both eyes, I now have 20/20 in one eye and -1 was left in the other to delay the need to have reading glasses in the future (this is to do with my age). I paid £1100 total and the whole experience was wonderful, quick, painless and I do not know now why I was so worried before. I found Accuvison to be professional and friendly and the after care is second to none. I would have no hesititation in recommending them to anyone and already two of my work colleagues have had it done since my experience.

I had Wavefront lasik surgery in the Solihull clinic 17 months ago. my eyes were -3.25 in each with slight astigmatism in one. The accuvision team were very professional, there was no pressure to have surgery and encouraged me to go away and think about it. On the day of surgery everything went well, each eye took less than 1 minute and i couldnt say it was painfull only the eye clamps were uncomfortable. Immediately after surgery i could see much better but through a haziness. Next day i returned to be told i had 20/20 vision, fantastic. Within 6 months my right eye had 20/10 left eye 20/20. I cant really complain can I. The haziness lessened to an extent that i dont know whether it has completely disappeared or that ive just adjusted to seeing through it. My eyes fluctuate sometimes, but its a small price to pay for excellent vision and now take for granted that i can see so well. Its was the best £1600 i ever spent and would strongly recommend it to all the fearful of you out there!!
Thank you Accuvision.
