Before the treatment I was - 2.25 and -2.75 and had a slight astigmatism
in one eye. I received the treatment yesterday in the Solihull clinic
and today I have 20/15 vision (better than 20/20).
I originally went to another clinic but I came out very
disappointed as they gave me 3 options, completely confused me with technology
and basically said what treatment I received was down to my budget !!
I spoke to a friend of mine who had his eyes corrected in January with
Accuvision and he recommended them. I booked in for the following day
and the consultation was very friendly, extremely professional and the
Surgeon explained what treatment would work for me, he then showed me
on the screens what I needed and more importantly what he recommended.
On the day of the treatment I was slightly nervous but
the surgery team were excellent. They explained what was happening, what
I should expect and completely put me at ease. I left the clinic and I
suffered no discomfort at all. I could see brilliantly the same day but
I was very careful not too get carried away and I followed their instructions.
Today I have had my follow up consultation and once again
they were extremely friendly and professional, I couldn't be happier with
the results. It all seems too easy, no pain at all, I wish I had it done
years ago.

I have just had my second cross-linking treatment for my Keratoconus and
thought I would share my experience, especially as cross-linking is quite
a new procedure.
I was diagnosed with Keratoconus by my High Street Optician
- from this point I spent a lot of time (as many of us do) researching
what it meant on the internet. As I had been diagnosed at an early stage
I was keen to look at some of the processes that intended to prevent the
keratoconus getting worse. After reading up - i had to appreciate that
any process would not give me 'perfect vision' but the emphasis is on
arresting the progression of the coning.
I found a few places that offered Cross Linking - I was
attracted by the concept of the procedure and the fact that the procedure
was done while I was awake and was a quick process.
I ended up going to Accuvision in Fulham. I live in Hampshire
so I had to make quite a few trips up to London - but it was worth it.
Everyone at Accuvision was fantastic. The pre op, op and post op care
was faultless. This daunting treatment was explained every step of the
way and the surgeons talk you through the process as it happens (which
lasted about an hour all-in-all).
The op itself is totally painless. The most discomfort
I had was in the first night, with the eye being quite sore. But eye drops
and pain killers help with this and from the second night onwards I had
not trouble sleeping.
I had my left eye done in November and that has been
a massive success. The vision has stabalised and I can now only need a
weak prescription for that eye. I am now waiting for my right eye to settle
down before I get my final prescription.
Thank you Accuvision. This treatment has undoubtedly
improved my quality of life.

Treatment at Accuvision, Parsons Green.
Excellent service, having had vision correction done
before at Optimax, the service that I got from Accuvision far exceeds
that elsewhere.
Accuvision were able to correct my vision to almost perfection
which Optimax was unable to do. After-care service is second to none.
Vikash Patel, my optometrist made the whole experience absolutely hassle-free
and easy. Definitely recommend to others thinking about vision correction.
Well done!

Achieved an excellent result!!! Better than I expected. Having suffered
with poor vision for many years, I can now see better than I did as a
teenager. I only wish that I had laser surgery earlier and not delayed.
Accuvisions' staff have been wonderful, explaining the
procedure clearly.
Thank you to all the staff

It's now just over 12 months since I had my treatment so feel it's right
to add my voice to the list of positive experiences regarding Accuvision.
I was treated at the Parsons Green clinic in London and
from the first visit to my last check up it was all I could ever hope
for from medical professionals. Everyone at the clinic was warm, approachable,
knowledgable, professional and dedicated to me and the long term care
of my eyes.
There was no hard sell. Instead I got free, impartial
and in depth information about my specific condition (approx -4 and astigmatism
in both eyes) and a number of options, including recommendations and costs,
for me to consider. I had no hesitation whatsoever in wanting to pursue
surgery with them (I had previously had consultations in 2 other major
UK clinics but had left them feeling decidedly like a number rather than
a person).
The surgery itself, as others have commented, was painless
and quick. There are quite a few other technicians in the room with you
which I didn't expect but they all had specific jobs to do and were there
to ensure my surgery went well so it didn't really bother me. I was talked
through every step so always knew what to expect. This, combined with
the friendly disposition of everyone around you, really put me at ease.
A handful of minutes later we were on to the second eye
and after about 10 minutes the whole procedure was complete. Once I sat
up I was able to see around me clearly and painlessly. It's quite mind
blowing actually after so many years of glasses.
The only minor discomfort I felt during the procedure
was a few seconds of pressure when the clamp is applied - but that was
all and really it's nothing to be concerned about.
After the op, I was seen again after about 20 minutes
to make sure the surgeon was happy. I was talked through what to do for
the following 24 hours and given everything I would need. I went through
my 24 hour, 1 week and 1 month check ups with each confirming the growing
strengthening of my sight (now better than 20:20). I had no infections
just a case of mild dry eye for the first few weeks. It's common, totally
managable with drops and goes away by itself.
12 months on my vision is crisper than ever, day and
night (especially important for driving) and I have developed a healthy
collection of sunglasses. I have recommended Accuvision to a number of
my glasses wearing friends and having seen my progress they could not
be restrained from having surgery themselves. They too have had a similar
experience to mine with Accuvision.
I would like to thank the various people I met during
my many visits to Parsons Green. They do a terrific job with sunny dispositions
and I wish them continued success. I am happy to recommend them for impartial
advice, excellent care and fantastic results at a price that puts many
of their competitors to shame. Finally, if you are unsure whether you
are suitable for surgery or think it might just be too expensive or painful
for you, what have you got to lose by finding out in a pressure free and
informed environment?
Best thing I've done in a long time, only wish I'd done
it earlier!

I had my treatment on 25th March, having thought long and hard about doing
this. At the age of 43, I wondered whether I would be free of myopia only
to find that a few years later I would need reading glasses. I had been
told my my optician that they could under correct one eye, but I did not
really like the idea of that, as when I had a weak contact lens in one
eye but perfect in the other eye it gave me headaches.
At my initial consultation the optomotrist spent a long
time talking to me about this, and put glasses on with the under correction
. I didn't even notice it until she pointed it out, and she did it so
subtly that I did not have a chance to reject the idea. It made me really
examine what choices I had to make.
I was put under no pressure to sign up there and then,
and I left the clinic with no one giving me a follow up call. It gave
me time to think.
What is impressive and gives you confidence is that as
you are waiting for your appointment, people who have just had surgery
sit inthe waiting room recovering. None of them are shaking or crying,
but sitting quietly with their eyes closed. It makes you realise that
the procedure cant be that bad.
I booked my appoointment for a few weeks time, and followed
instructions to the letter about pre-care. I was very nervous on the day.
I was told by the surgeon that I had made a good decision to try the one
under correction, and was told that if I could not get on with it, they
would do the full correction in 3 months time at no extra cost.
I am so glad I did it. It is incredibly liberating to
be free of glasses. The mono vision has taken some time to get used to,
but every day it gets better, and less noticeable. 3 weeks in, I hardly
notice it now. My optician (a friend) looked at my eyes under her microscope
a few days later and said that they had done a brilliant job and that
it was healing really well.
I would say that if you choose to have this done, make
sure you follow the pre and after care to the letter. It is vital that
you respect the fact that your eyes have been operated on and that you
must reduce the risk of infection.
I would recommend it to anyone. The worst bit is sitting
in the reception waiting for it to happen. It does not hurt and is only
really mildly uncomfortable.
Good luck with whatever choice you make.

I initially visited Accuvision earlier this year for an assessment. A
friend had previously been treated there and highly recommended them.
Prior to that I had visited one of the major High Street chains. After
my experience in the High Street I was not positive regarding what the
outcome of my visit to Accuvision might be.
I could not have been more wrong!
At the High Street chain I was greeted by a young lady who was to be my
“mentor” throughout, taken by her into the clinic area above
the opticians’ shop, and after going through a few basics left to
wait for the optician. When he arrived and took me into his room, he seemed
more interested in telling me that he didn’t really want to be there,
but as they’d allowed him to bring his wife and family for the weekend,
he’d agreed to do it. Then he complained that he’d had no
lunch. In the circumstances, I really wanted to hear all of this!
When he did eventually get around to the matter of the assessment, he
quickly informed me that my left eye, which has been weak from birth,
might not be suitable for laser treatment – and if it was treated
it would be very expensive. Ultimately he pronounced that my left eye
could not be treated, and he recommended that I make an appointment via
my mentor to be assessed for lens implantation at their Harley Street
clinic. When I asked what the cost of this would be, to say the least,
his estimate was very expensive.
The optician took me downstairs to the shop to look for the mentor, and
it transpired that she had gone out to lunch. Another mentor told me that
if I would like to wait for about 20 minutes, she may have time to deal
with me. I left at that point, asking them to get my mentor to phone me
the next working day to make the appointment. I am still waiting for her
call! Thank goodness she couldn’t be bothered!
When I visited the Accuvision clinic, things could not have been more
different. My faith in human nature was restored! The clinic itself is
very professionally appointed, and all of the staff are very friendly
and efficient. I immediately felt relaxed and in the hands of professionals.
The optometrist put me through various tests, using modern computerised
equipment. At every stage he explained what was happening and why. He
told me that it WAS possible to have laser treatment, gave me the cost
there and then (which was very good compared to the estimate received
at the High Street chain), explained more about the treatment itself,
and left me to decide if I wanted to go ahead. There was not any pressure.
I was invited to go home and discuss the whole thing with my wife, and
to give them a call if I wanted to go ahead.
Needless to say I called to arrange for the treatment to take place. I
am ecstatic at the results that were achieved.
I was only at the clinic for a total of about an hour, of which the treatment
itself took about 10 minutes. The rest was preparation time and after
care. Again at every stage I received an explanation of what was happening,
and I felt fully relaxed and in the hands of true professionals, who were
very friendly throughout.
During the treatment itself, I only felt what I can describe as a very
slight vibration on each eye – and only for a few seconds in each
case. There was absolutely no discomfort. That evening there was minor
discomfort, but again very professionally, I was told in advance exactly
what to expect, given drops for my eyes and told to rest them for the
rest of the night.
The next day it was amazing, the minor discomfort had gone. I went for
a check up and already the sight in my previously better eye was perfect,
even my other eye was almost perfect – that had not been the case
since birth!
As I write, it’s now just over a week since my treatment –
and my vision is still improving by the day. I can even read without glasses
now – which I certainly wasn’t expecting.
Thank you to everyone at Accuvision for a very professional job extremely
well done.

One week after my surgery I have excellent vision. I am aware that there
may be fluctuations because accuvision have been open and honest about
the possibilities but I'm delighted so far. The staff were friendly and
supportive throughout the proceedure and the level of care and service
is outstanding. As the second person in my family to have successful surgery
I will be recommending to anyone interested in lazer eye surgery that
they approach accuvision for assessment. I travelled from Norfolk to have
my treatment and it was worth the inconvenience of travelling to know
that I would be treated by experts.

The whole experience was reassuring and the staff more

Absolutely fantastic!! The surgery only took a couple of minutes and was
completely painless, you honestly cannot feel a thing (I was about -4
in both eyes with slight astigmatism in one eye). I was on my way home
only 10 minutes after I had the op. I was reading number plates on the
way home and in the afternoon I could read things in the distance as good
as my boyfriend who has perfect vision, I was so impressed, couldn’t
believe how quick I could see clearly.
After my check up on the second day I was told I could
now drive as my vision was so good, so I drove home, no problem. I needed
extra drops for a few days as my eyes were a bit dry.
Had my 1 week check up yesterday and was told I have
20:20 vision. It is amazing.
I chose AccuVision from reading the testimonials and
I am so glad I did, I would like to thank everyone at AccuVision in Fulham,
they were very professional and made me feel at ease.

I would say this is the best money I have ever spent.
I went to Optimax previously for a consultation and was
quoted £3090! So I looked on the internet and found Accuvision,
read all the testimonials and booked an appointment. It was a much better
experience, everything was explained and the price about half that I was
quoted elsewhere.
I was worried on the day of surgery as any normal person
would be. But it did not hurt and I was talked through every step. It
was over before you knew it. There was nothing to fear. I came out and
could see, although slightly blurry.
Since the surgery, just the feeling of dry eyes which
drops help. My vision is good and I need it with two children to look
after. ACCUVISION HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE POSITIVELY FOREVER!
I can see the clock during the night! I was a guinea
pig for all my friends. I have told them I would do it again without a
thought. DO IT! It's wonderful to be without glasses.

I'd worn glasses since the age of about five for things like reading,
TV, schoolwork and then later driving. As soon as possible I moved on
to contact lenses and was pretty happy with them at first. However, after
a while the whole routine of having to clean them and take them out etc
etc started to get on my nerves so I looked in having laser surgery.
I did a bit of research into the various companies around but was very
impressed by the service and value for money I was offered at Accuvision.
One of the main reasons I was keen to get my eyes lasered is for my rugby
- all too frequently I would lose a contact lens on the pitch and be half
blind for the rest of the game.
I decided to go with Accuvision and after a being taken through the procedure
step by step I agreed to have the surgery done.
On the day I was pretty nervous but was re-assured by the calm atmosphere
at the clinic. After a few more routine checks I found myself underneath
the laser machine, waiting to experience all the horror stories I'd heard
- the smell of burning cornea, the pain, the discomfort etc etc.
The procedure took I'd say about 7secs per eye and there was no smell,
no pain, and no discomfort. The worst aspect of the whole things was having
lots of drops put into my eyes.
As soon as the surgeon let me sit up I could see - it was amazing. I really
found it quite an emotional experience to be able to see perfectly after
so many years of glasses and contact lenses and blurred vision.
I went home with a course of drops to take, came back the next day and
then again a few months later for the last checkup to ensure everything
is OK.
My surgeon says now if he hadn't done the surgery, looking at my eyes
he wouldn't know I'd had it done and apparently I have better than 20:20
vision - I didn't even know such a thing was possible!!
The operation really is one of the best things I have ever done - I feel
so happy not to have to rely on glasses or lenses and it's fantastic not
to have to worry about my eyes on the rugby pitch.
I couldn't recommend having the surgery done highly enough and the service
and expertise I experienced at Accuvision was second to none.
Photo attached too.
Thanks so much

After an initial consultation with a well known high street optician,
I was convinced I wanted to go ahead with laser surgery but I WAS NOT
CONFIDENT with the staff who tried to answer my questions. I then went

staff were polite, patient and very informative - I trusted them completely.
The surgery went extremely well, no pain and my vision is better than
I had ever hoped it would be. The procedure regarding mono-vision was
explained in detail and contact lenses were inserted into my eyes so I
could experience what my sight would be like after surgery. You can't
get better informed than that !! If you are considering Laser Surgery,

Just fantastic. From the moment I got into the waiting room prior to the
operation until today- over 2 weeks later- I couldn't be happier.
From the Ophthalmologist who performed the first consultation to the surgeon
who performed the operation, everyone was marvellous. They were really
friendly, and explained everything really well. The consequence is that
I can see properly for the first time since I was 10- not yesterday- without
any correction at all.
My prescription was -4.5 with a severe astigmatism and -4.25 with a less
severe one. Now it's 0 and -1.5 which means I can read teeny print in
contracts and everything at distance. Technically I have 20:15 vision,
which is better than 20:20 and considerably better than that needed to
drive.
Apart from a small problem with one eye not liking the steroid drops too
much and becoming dry, there have been no adverse reactions. I don't even
need to use artificial tears any more- although I have left the post-it
marked "blink" on my compute, just to remind me.
also I like how straightforward the clinic was. They said it would be
£950 per eye, and it was. My friend paid considerably more 2 months
before and certainly could not have had better treatment than I have had.
I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone.

I was confused and worried about getting laser surgery on my eyes and
was fed a lot of different information from different companies.
The doctor at Accuvision gave very clear and honest information and didn't
try to take advantage of my obvious insecurities around having surgery.
As well as this the price was the cheapest I could find - less than half
what I was originally quoted by another popular company in Tottenham Court
Rd.
Shortly after my surgery I enjoyed a very active holiday in Thailand with
a new clarity of vision and freedom I had never before experienced.
It feels like a little miracle and I still catch myself wondering - where
did I put my glasses? - a year on. Then I remember that I don't have to
worry about them any more!
Great!

I had both eyes lazered two weeks ago and I cannot stress what a worthwhile
investment this has been for me. I have been wearing glasses and lenses
since I was 18 and am about -5.00 in both eyes. I cycle and run regularly
and 'convenience' has been one of the main reasons why I wanted to have
the surgery.
This clinic was strongly recommended to me by an Optician friend who works
for one of the few specialised eye lazer clinics in Dublin, Ireland. There
were several other lazer clinics advertised in London and the UK with
even cheaper quotes however, I was advised that eye surgery isnt something
one should bargain with.
The staff at Accuvision, Fulham were very professional, extremely informative
and could fit me in when it suited me. I was quite apprehensive but the
surgeon put me at ease and the nurse held my hand throughout the surgery.
The procedure only lasted two minutes - quick and painless. The after-care
has also been very thorough.
With Accuvision, I felt I was in safe hands from the very first consultation
(which was free).
Every day over the past two weeks I have noticed improvements with my
sight. The realisation that I may never have to put in contact lenses
or crawl around for my glasses is such a relief.
The option of opening up a payment plan with Accuvision was a deciding
factor for me. I could put what I wanted down as the deposit and pay off
the remainder over a 10month (interest free) payment plan.
No regrets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just do it!

From the moment I made the initial contact I have been treated
with the utmost professionalism. We received a brochure and DVD within
two days. The DVD is great showing exactly what to expect. Through this
we phoned and made an appointment. We were a little concerned at having
to go to London but need not have worried as it is so easy to get to the
clinic from Victoria station.
I had previously had a consultation with Optical Express but the experience
was not good, although the examination itself was fine, and I had no confidence
in going ahead. The following day my wife found Accuvision on the net
and through that we made contact. which I am so glad of.
I am 69 years old and wasn’t sure that I would be able to have the
surgery. However, after my consultation I was able to go ahead. We had
booked the surgery for the same day so I didn’t have to wait.
I had my surgery on the 28th February 2008 at the London Clinic. Everything
has been fantastic. The caring attitude of all involved, through to the
surgery itself and the aftercare which is brilliant, I cannot praise everyone
enough.
I cannot tell you how great it is to be able to see again without glasses.
I can drive, shop, go to theaters and restaurants without having to think
`where are my glasses`. Many times I have missed a performance at the
theatre or have had to ask my wife to read a menu to me in the restaurant
because I had left my glasses at home.
I would just like to say to those of you who are thinking of having this
surgery that I believe you could not get a better service anywhere and
at such a reasonable price.
I cannot thank you enough and have already recommended you to my friends.

I had my surgery in October so am now 5 months post op.
What can I say- a miracle has occurred!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was shortsighted with a prescription of -2.5 and -4.25. All my life
I had struggled to wear contact lenses as found them so uncomfortable.
My friend Nicole had recommended the clinic to me so very nrevously I
went along for the consultation. What a lovely experence, the staff were
amazing. The operation was so very quick and easy, no pain involved, all
in the mind.
I could see that evening with only slight blurring. Upon my six week check
i was actually discharged as they were so pleased with me, I now have
better than 20/20 vision.
The aftercare is fantastic- I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough,

Thanks to Chad who looked after me - always made me feel like I was the

Anyone who is considering going elsewhere all I ask is that you have your

I had my 'operation' only two weeks ago and haven't looked back. I picked
Accuvision because two of my friends recommended them. I had a consultation
with them and with Optical Express who advertise at £350 per eye.
Actually the quote from Optical Express for the same treatment I had at
Accuvision was over £3000!
Accuvision were great. The 'operation' was painless and
quick, the worst part was the all in the mind. I was a wimp but the surgeon
explained everything he was doing and the nurse held my hand. It was over
before I could blink an eye - literally. The same evening I had the 'op'
- I was in my local pub telling everyone how fantastic it was, I could
see really well - no problem.
I was short sighted by -5.25 in one eye and -6 in the
other. I had also needed to wear reading glasses over the last two years
because of my age (I am 53). The surgeon corrected by eyesight in one
eye for perfect long sight and compensated the other eye so that I don't
need to use reading glasses unless the light is bad or the print is very
tiny.
So for anyone out there who is dithering about taking
the risk - GO FOR IT. you are worth it! I did.

I had both eyes laser treated six weeks ago and am absolutely delighted
with the results. I found the whole procedure fascinating and it's great
to be able to live without my old glasses and contact lenses - to see
clearly as soon as I wake up in the morning and also have the ability
to see what's going on around me when I go swimming. The staff at the
Fulham clinic were friendly yet professional and put me at ease at all
times; and the really clever thing is that they were able to keep some
of my short-sightedness in one eye so that I can read without the need
for reading glasses, at least until I get a bit older. If you're contemplating
having this treatment, then think no more - just do it!

I am 32 years old and have been using contact lenses on and
off since I was 18, and had already developed repeated eye infections
caused by using lenses too much. The private Doctor I saw for the infections
suggested to consider laser treatment since he knew I didn't like wearing
glasses and I started to study clinics on the internet. I found Accuvision
convincing and asked my Doctor for his opinion on my choice. He said it
is a reputable clinic and asked me for the price they had offered me and
said that also the price was in place. Now I felt confident to make my
appointment for the surgery!
Everyone at Accuvision was very caring since the first visit and I felt
that I was being explained about the choices well. My biggest fear was
my repeated infections and I was making sure that the optometrist and
surgeon knew about this in case that I would be in risk of infection post-op.
They considered Trans Epithelial laser treatment because of my infections
but then came back to me and said Wavefront Optimized LASIK would be fine,
and so it was!
It is now 3 weeks after my surgery and I feel completely happy about everything!!!
At the day of operation I just tried to think that this is a voluntary
small operation that takes just a few minutes and that I have decided
to do in order to see without glasses and that there really isn't anything
to be worried about. Accuvisions Lifetime Care Commitment also made me
feel that everything will be taken care of.
In the actual surgery I was talked trough the whole procedure and that
really helped me to feel secure, and when the second eye was operated
a nurse called Jane held my hand since it was a bit more unnerving (THANK
YOU EVER SO MUCH) and the taking me trough the process all over again
kept me quite calm trough the whole operation, and after just a few minutes
in the operation room I could sit up and was amazed that I could see clearly
all ready! I was all smiles after that, and happy to have a loved one
with me to the surgery, since it felt very good to share the experience
trough out the day with somebody and to just be amazed together about
how well I could see:)
About ten minutes after the operation I was being examined again and confirmed
that all had gone well. Also at my one day and one week post-op checks
everything was fine, just some dryness of the eyes that I feel is now
starting to settle and I just use about 6 drops per eye a day and normally
when I wake up in the morning there isn't any discharge anymore!
I would like to thank everyone at Accuvision for taking so good care of
me, both the optometrists (Jane who first examined me remembered my particular
needs all the time even though it took me a while to decide to go trough
with the surgery) and Neeha at the reception was also very understanding
and caring all the time. And in the surgery I appriciated the talking
me trough everything very very much, and of course holding my hand too,
thank you all ever so much, I am grateful that you did such a fantastic
job on my eyes! Having perfect vision is such a miracle, THANK YOU!!!

If you are considering having laser eye surgery, read on. I payed £950
per eye for the best care you could receive anywhere and I visited another
more popular clinic(ultra lase) just to compare and was quoted more than
double what i paid at accuvision. There are no sales team offering you
a deal or finance options and no pushy so called advisors telling you
what is best for you. I was treated so respectful by trained opticians
and the consultation took half the time of the others. I have had my surgery
now and its the best decision ive made, thanks to Accuvision

and still have to pinch myself that i do not have to wear glasses! the
treatment i recieved from phoning up for my initial consult untill now
has been excellent, the staff are very friendly and do not push or rush
you into anything. the surgery was pain free and the next day i could
see clearly. i paid the £500 deposit and paid ten intersest free
payments of £100 so by december it was paid but did not seem that
long and made the cost easy to pay and did not notice the payments coming
out! thankyou to you all at accuvision, my brother in law has just had

I had surgery 21 months ago now, and thought it was time for an update.......
I promised the guys at Accuvision that I would not only add a review straight
after surgery, but also add one a various stages in the future.
OK, averything is still amazing, the only problem is I do seem to take
it for granted now, which is something I promised I would never do. My
pre-op presciption was -7.00 in both eyes with a slight asigmatism, I
am due an eye test, but know that my sight is still fantastic.
I do not need to use any drops at all, even when flying long haul, and
often people suffer with dry eyes then, my eyes are completely "normal".
Once again a big thank you to the team at Accuvision, the gift they have
given me is more than anyone could ask for.
Any questions, please ask

Where do I start? I can perhaps firstly say a BIG THANK YOU to the Accuvision
team for giving me back the sight I had not been able to enjoy since I
was 14!
I came across the clinic through a recommendation from a friend.
I was very nervous off course during my first visit but Mr Vikash Patel, theconsultant,
was very professional and did spend a lot of time checking my suitabilty
and explaining very cleary about this procedure to me.
The actual surgery itself was actually short and painless. Thank you Dr
Chad Roston - I walked out of the surgey seeing instantly, and unaided!
The after care is excellent. There is always somebody calling you back
if you have any concerns which I think is so reassurring..
Thank you once again!

I'd done my research beforehand, and had been recommended Accuvision,
but have been amazed by them ever since my first visit - the way they
treat their customers if personable and way in advance of any private
healthcare I've ever had. You really get the feeling that they care about
their patients and enjoy what they do.
I'm now 1 1/2 months past surgency, and my eyes are bordering
on 20:15, beforehand I thought 20:20 was the best possible so would have
been happy with that - but to have above average eye-sight is great.
Night vision was my biggest concern, I'd been told it'd
be fine and that was true, driving at night my sight i(in terms of glare)
s far better than with contacts and I'm sure it's equal or better to what
it was with glasses.
At this point I just need a few eye-drops during the
course of the day, mainly due to the excessive hours of screen-work I
do, otherwise there are nop other symptoms that would make anyone relaise
anything was different about my eyes.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

It took me more than two years to take the decision to change my life
and get rid of my glasses. My first visit to Accuvision was amazing. Everybody
made me feel so comfortable that I was ready for the operation. Obviously,
I was scared, but the doctor (Mr. Rostron) made me relax and the nurse
held my hand. A lovely team. It took no more than 5 minutes and afterwards
I opened my eyes and my sight was great. I cried and smiled at the same
time! Now after 6 months I still feel lucky that i found this clinic and
the help they gave me in finding the courage to change my life.

This is an update. I was discharged by the clinic one year ago. I was
so pleased with the outcome at that time. The whole experience from initial
consult through to discharge was one of care and professionalism. The
whole team were wonderful. Monovision is tricky to come to terms with
and it takes longer to settle down, but, WOW when it is healed and when
you suddenly realise you are seeing normally every day that's when you
know that you are recovered. That's where I am now and I thank the team
at Accuvision for all that they did for me. This is an excellent clinic.

I had lasik at Accuvision in Solihull last April and it has changed my
life!
The procedure was pain free, extremely quick (15mins) and I only had to
take 2 days off work.
I am so happy to have had the surgery and to have ditched the glasses
and contacts! This is especially noticable when you go on holiday and
want to do activities such as swimming and snorkelling.
The team at Accuvision were so professional and friendly that it made
the whole experience a lot less daunting, and practically a breeze.
I would recommend it to anyone!

I went for a pre op consultation at AccuVision's London clinic two years
later I recently went to their Solihull clinic as a walk in for the surgery.
Within two hours I had a further pre op check and the operation. It was
as if there was no gap between the two appointments, the professionalism
and commitment to my clinical requirements and not their bank balance
shone through. I had visited a high street clinic offering surgery FROM
just £395 per eye between my two visits to AccuVision with a view
to have them perform the surgery but left with the feeling that I was
secondary to their profit line, with a quote twice that of AccuVision.
I already knew I was suitable so I was able to separate the clinical elements
from the hard sell of their 'customer liaison'. In comparison, at no time,
when dealing with AccuVision did I feel I was in a sales pitch and that
I was any thing other than their priority. AccuVision have are excellent

the most advertised company Ultralise... big mistake. I have a very thin
cornea which Ultralise failed to mention in the consultation, agreed i
could have the surgey and then when the day came the surgeon refused to
do the surgery because of my thin cornea. That is when had given up on
getting the surgery done.
I then got referred to Accuvision who were amazing! they discussed my
thin cornea gave me two safe options explained them thoroughly and i had
my surgery within a month of my consultation. They were £600 cheaper than
Ultralise and 100% better!
One month on and my vision is perfect! i have been back for regulary check

WOW !!! - I can see again....
After 18 years (half my life !) of not being able to see without contact
lenses and glasses, I finally bit the bullet and went for laser eye treatment
at Accuvision SOLIHULL.
Slightly nervous able putting my eyesight in the hands of another person,
but the team at Solihull were excellent.
It is probably the most intense experience you will ever have, but believe
me the experience of waking up in the morning and being able to see out
the window is even more intense !.
The treatment is not painful in the slightest bit and you are in very
capable hands. After 13 minutes in the surgery I actually got up and walked
back to the waiting room on my own, where 5 other people are trying to
gauge your reaction !
I went back today (1 week after surgery) to have my eyes tested - my vision
currently stands at 33% better than 20-20 vision !!!! - give it another
week and Superman will be worrying !.
Thank you to everyone at Soilihull - excellent....

For me, it was very uncomfortable in the prep work for the surgery (Never
worn contacts or put eye drops in so really didn't like someone playing

After visiting three other companies offering laser surgery, Accuvision
offered the best technology at the most affordable price (by far!). My
initial consultation was very good and I was given a clear description
of what to expect, so that when I arrived on the morning of my surgery,
I felt prepared, although a little anxious. I needn't have worried. The
atmosphere at Accuvision (and they are unique here, having visited three
others), is very much like a family. Everyone I communicated with was
kind, friendly and patient. This was particularly apparent during my short
time in the surgery itself. At every step, the staff told me what was
happening and reassured me. In between they chatted to me and made me
feel very much at home. The surgery itself was so quick, I barely had
time to be aware it was happening! It was very professionally done and
I felt that I was in trhe best possible hands. Afterwards, I rapidly found
my sight to be better than I had ever known it - with glasses or with
contact lenses. It's such a freedom to wake up every morning and simply
see clearly without fumbling around for the elusive specs! I unequivically
reccommend laser surgery at Accuvision to anyone, even people who are
a little frightened of the idea of it... you will be okay at Accuvision!
And you'll never regret it!

It' been exactly one year since I had laser surgery at Accuvision in Birmingham,
and its been the best thing I've ever done! My prescription was -1.5 and
-1.25 so my eyesight wasn't that bad to begin with, but still required
glasses to do most things. The total cost of my surgery came to £1100;
£500 of which I paid up front and the rest in 10 interest free monthly
instalments which I have since paid off without a hitch. I was only in
surgery for about 10 minutes, most of that time spent in preperation as
the actual operation for each eye didnt seem to take more than a minute.
I have to admit it was an unpleasant experience, but as it was so quick
I didn't have time to dwell on it. Immediately after surgery I was a little
worried as my eyesight actually seemed worse(!) but I was advised this
would pass over the next 24 hours(which it did). While I was in the clinic
the service was professional throughout; I also arrived at the clinic
over an hour late but was told not to worry and didn't have to wait longer
than an hour until it was my turn. For the next three hours I found my
eyes were constantly watering and stinging, so just kept them closed and
then was feeling alot more comfortable. By the next day my eyesight was
still slightly blurry but good enough to drive by, which your not supposed
to do, but I live in Leeds and actually drove on my own to Birmingham
and back that day with no problems whatsover. I did wear a pair of sunglasses
as my eyes were still feeling sensitive. Within 3 days my eyesight was
nearly perfect; by day 7 when I had a check-up and sight test, I had 20/10
vision! Today my eyesight is still perfect, the only side effect I've
noticed is lights at night seem a little brighter and have a halo around
them. This however is something that i've become accustomed to and now
looks normal. Final verdict? Without hesitation have la

What had put me off laser eye surgery until this point in life (I am 49)?
I think it must be the misconception, fuelled by more than one discussion
with more than one optician, that my prescription could not be accommodated.
Vikash Patel, who conducted my very thorough initial
consultation with Accuvision in London on 9 November 2007, reassured me
on this. My R. -2.50 L. -0.75 (sphere) and R. -1.50 L. -3.00 (cylinder)
prescription would present no problem according to Vik and he has been
proved right.
The only potential issue highlighted by the initial consultation
was thinner than normal corneas. Vik said this might result in no further
progress towards treatment at other laser eye surgery providers but that
Accuvision’s state of the art equipment would have no problem given
my prescription was relatively ‘weak’.
I was taken patiently through the alternative treatments
available at Accuvision and recommended Lasik (the creation of a corneal
flap and subsequent laser). Vik also recommended, given my age, that I
have monovision. This plays to fact that we have a dominant eye, in my
case the right. This is treated for long vision, and the other eye made
slightly under-powered to accommodate near sight.
So to surgery day … on Monday, 19 November. I felt
surprisingly calm – although the nurse monitoring my pulse would
probably offer a different view. As so many others have said on this site,
the procedure was entirely painless. The creation of the corneal flap
was a little unnerving, given it is the only ‘mechanical’
part of the process, but that aside the surgery gave me no concerns. I
was soon back in the waiting room … and about ten minutes later
being examined by Mr Jindal, my surgeon, who confirmed that all had gone
well.
A next day examination by Vik confirmed good progress
even within 24 hours. Some 6 weeks or so later, another Accuvisision opthalmologist,
Joan, confirmed 20:20 vision – plano in my right eye and –
0.5 in the left.
There are some points I would make to anyone who is considering
or who has only just had laser eye surgery.
* firstly, the team at Accuvision are very personable,
highly professional, patient and interested in a good outcome rather than
a sale.
* secondly – and this is particularly for those who have just had
surgery – do not panic if stable, good eyesight is not immediate.
I was jumpy enough by day three to return to Accuvision (not a quick journey
from Basingstoke), worried that my sight was still variable. I was reassured
– but I would say that it was not until the fourth week that things
settled and I got used to the monovision.
* Thirdly, be a bit thoughtful about how you will protect your eyes from
the enquiring fingers of a young child. That said, I have had a few jabs
in the eye from my son since surgery with no ill effect. I did stay away
from him completely, though, for the first 24 hours which Mr Jindal had
stressed would be the ‘most critical in the life of my eyes’!
My eyesight now. Absolutely amazing! On a clear winter’s
day with sunshine (a rare event lately, I know) the clarity is really
striking. Without getting too poetic, I particularly notice the colour
of trees and the way light falls on them. I am surprised and almost a
bit guilty at how quickly I have taken this for granted after 42 years
of wearing spectacles. I can only suggest that it reflects well on the
quality of the experience I have had with Accuvision.

excellent, comfortable and the staff are very welcoming. The proffesional
attitude impressed me without being too much in your face. All the staff
from top to bottom seem to carry a certain confidence.Having eye surgery
is a major step. You have to read a long list of possible side effects, accept
that this is a cosmetic surgery of sorts, sign a consent form and still
feel confident in the process. I was so nervous, when i lay on the the
laser bed i was like a piece of wood. The nurse took my pulse which was
racing no doubt and asked me if i would like to hold my hand.I am forty
five years of age but the speed at which i said yes was comical.Anyway
she did and in a very short time it was all over. The only sensation was
tha smell of the laser burning. Soon after i was sitting outside with
my wife.Twenty minutes later i was in a cafe having breakfast.I did all
i was told for a week then returned to work and being a builder this meant
i had to be very careful. Anyway six weeks on and i can honestly say this
is one of the best decisions i have ever made. After my consultation i
went for mono-vision.I have worn glasses for long distance since i was
twenty four. For the last five years i have needed glasses for reading
also.Mono vision has helped me with both.

I have been contemplating having surgery since 2003, but was never in
a financial or indeed time position to have it done. I arranged the assessment
etc whilst abroad without any problems and I took out my soft lenses on
11th of December and was blind as a bat for 7 days.
On the day of the race, after a 3 hour drive from Devon, I met up with
a number of surgeons who took a very personal approach to my compatibility,
feelings and concerns and I have to say that I felt very at ease after
all the examinations had been carried out and then went into the surgery
for my treatment.
From lying down on the couch to both my eyes being treated (bi-lateral
wafefront astigmatism), to standing up post-treatment, took no more than
10 minutes. The laser surgery itself is painless, although the preparation
is uncomfortable but it is a small price to pay for the sight that I now
have. (In excess of 20/20), when my right eye before surgery was +5.25!!
Thoroughly satisfied and would recommend a consultation to anybody.

biggest coward and was terrified. I work on stage and cannot wear glasses
so when I lost a contact lens it made me face my fear. After much persuasion
from my husband I took the plunge. I was met by Nick who was very helpful

but they were all very patient with me. They did not rush me and then
they carried on with the second eye and to be honest there was nothing
to be scared of its all in your mind.
I have had my follow up appointments and am very happy with all at accuvision

If you are considering laser eye surgery, in my view, you don't have to
search anywhere else - as you have probably just found your clinic!!!
I had Wavefront Optimized LASIK exactly one year ago
and it was the best decision I could possibly make about my eyes. Dear
Accuvision team - thank you so much again for the freedom I enjoy!!
I used to be short sighted and my prescription was -4.50
and -2.50 with slight astigmatism. I'm 30 years old, wearing glasses since
my early teens. Before I called Accuvision I went to Optical Express,
but what a disaster!! I was just a number. Also from the advertised £395
per eye, the final quote ended up on astonishing £4000!! And the
really 'best thing': at Optical Express was that they used such strong
drops for dilating pupils. I couldn't see a thing. Of course it was well
after my vision was completely blurred and I could not read a thing that
they wanted me to immediately sign some papers and also immediately book
for the surgery. Appalling experience! By the way the drops they used
made my vision completely unclear for straight 8 hours.
They almost put me off getting my eyes lasered completely!
The Accuvision approach was completely different. No
rushing, very friendly atmosphere, everything explained to the very detail,
affordable price - my quote was £1300 in total for both eyes including
wavefront treatment, which unlike many other clinics is a standard at
Accuvision! No offers of talking up the price for 'better' treatments
after baiting people with significantly lower advertised prices. I think
the moment when receptionist talked to me after my consultation and even
advised me to have another consultation elsewhere if I feel like it, gave
me the confidence to go ahead. Also taking into consideration that the
technology at Accuvision seems so much more advanced than at other clinics
- I booked myself in.
Please don't be scared of the surgery - you are truly
in experienced hands and it is seriously painless. I can't even say the
surgery was unpleasant because it happened so quickly - you don't have
a time to think about it. I spent approx. 20 minutes in the treatment
room. The actual time of using laser was about few seconds on each eye.
Protective lenses were inserted and off I went. On my way home from the
clinic while waiting with my friend for a train - I could already read
the train times on the board and my friend couldn't - unbelievable!!!
I mean - my vision was a bit hazy and it was like looking through dirty
window, but I could see things clearly enough. Next day there was still
a bit of haziness but definitely there was remarkable improvement and
I watched a bit a TV with sun glasses. 24 hours after my surgery, protective
contact lenses were removed and at this stage I was slightly disappointed
as I thought right after that I would be able to see without the haziness.
This happened in the late afternoon so I went to bed early. What a surprise
in the morning!!!! That was it - everything was crispy clear!!! I went
flat hunting with my friends and in the evening I even attended a house
party. Since then my vision is better than 20/20 and I can't even imagine
anymore what it was like wearing glasses!!
So again, if you can't decide maybe because you don't
like the feeling of anyone touching your eye, please let it happen, you
won't regret it at all - it's a very small price to pay for being able
to see clearly!!

Nearly 12 months on and my eyesight is still wonderful. I have to think
hard what it was like to wear glasses! Now it's winter - no more steaming
up of glasses when coming back into the house! Fantastic - I have told
everyone about it.
